He flip-flops on issues depending on the audience he is trying to flim-flam. He
is a hypocrite. Perfect qualifications for a politician.
Does Romney have what it takes? No. He's just another politician, no better or
worse than the rest, who changes his positions based on what he thinks the
people want to hear. There's abosultely nothing about him to make him
remarkable or valuable in any way.No, thanks, Mitt. Don't want you;
don't need you.
We need sarah.
No. The Christian reich will never support a Mormon. Liberals will
not support Romney. And conservatives will not support him. Outside
of Utah, who would vote this guy for President?
No. He's a flip flopper and too soft like Bush Sr. He will be seen as weak
unless he starts a war. Please no more ego wars....But go ahead and run him
because he will loose. Run Palin too.
Romney stands only for Romney. His positions will change with each audience he
faces. Mitt Pretzel is more like it.
He would have to repudiate Romneycare, which he won't do, because he's
calculating on using it to attract moderates. When I type the word
"calculating" just now, I realized that this one word sums up most of
my misgivings about Mitt Romney.
There is no place for a moderate in the Republican Party regardless of how he
tries to align himself with the Tea Party. As many conservative zealots in this
thread have stated, he is a RINO.However, Romney has the wrong
religion to be a major leader in a conservative movement which demands one's
evangelical bona fides before gaining the blessing of the social conservatives.
Attempts to put the religion question aside as it should be, it stand in the
forefront for conservative candidates. The base selects the candidate, and the
base is extremely reactionary in it's priorities. It is very
different from John F. Kennedy who was in the more tolerant Democratic Party.
He won by being able to appeal to both Democrats and Independents and didn't
need the fringe social/religous conservatives. Mitt, on the other hand, cannot
even get to the nomination without getting the approval in the primary
gauntlet.Romney will be explaining the "unusual beliefs"
of his religion in specific detail so the Huckabee's and Palin's don't label him
as being "as bad as having a Muslim in the White House."It's a formidable task.
Poor Mitt, if he became a Blue Dog Democrat, he would finally have a home which
would welcome him.He doesn't meet the basic requirements in the
conservative litmus test. And I was so looking for a Palin-Romney primary
battle.I sure hope Sarah Palin doesn't give up. Her
"stick-it-in-your-eye" attitude doesn't fit with her acknowledging
that the Republican Party doesn't want her as their candidate. If she should
give up in the face of the Republican establishment's dislike for her, it would
mean that all her rhetoric is just meaningless prose written by some ghostwriter
(Rebecca Mansour) hidden away in the depths of her organization.Republicans need to pull a Barry Goldwater. Since they have an extremely poor
selection for 2012, they should give Palin the opportunity to get out there an
stir up the fires. Surely, the members of her staff are looking foreward to a
grand payday. However, there is the risk that the fringe, Tea Party
Right may come to dominate the Republican Party for the next 30 years and no
candidate who makes it through the primaries could make it on the national
Within 6 months of the start of the Obama administration, "Mitt" came
out with his book No Apology for greatness, bashing Obama. He's a legend in his
own mind. He will say or do anything to get elected. He is the ultimate
flipflopper. His healthcare bill in Mass. is almost identical to the healthcare
bill that upsets all republicans. You dont hear him say much about that. Obama
will be president after 2012, despite the lies and hate speech from the lunatic
fringe. Romney is too sane to be their candidate. They need a moron like sarah
Palin, or Michele Bachman. Rush Limbaugh, or Glen beck. These are the faces of
the "New" republican party. Sadly, the party of Lincoln, and Reagan is
no more. You have to be a lunatic.
No one and I mean no one could possibly be worse than President Obama, who is
the single worst President to ever sit in the Oval Office.
If Utah repubs want an LDS candidate they need to ride Huntsman all the way.
Huntsman > Romney.
To JNA | 7:24 a.m. Feb. 21, 2011 Layton, UT No one and I mean no one

Obama in the White House. I don't like a lot of what Obama has done, but he
doesn't come even close to causing the damage we suffered with George Walker
Right on, Furry1993! And it is obvious that JNA has never studied US
history, or s/he could come with at least a couple more on that worst list, such
as Andrew Johnson.
Re: JNA | 7:24 a.m. Feb. 21, 2011 Layton, UT It's refreshing to hear
from such an esteemed presidential scholar. Now only that, it is probably just
a simple omission on the part of JNA not to mention the other talking points
necessary to support his thesis: illegal alien, secret Muslim, friend of
terrorists, anti-American, foreigner, and apologist.I can't wait for
Oh the irony.....Utahns SAY they will vote for him in droves. One can only ask, Why?Politically - he's the biggest RHINO
flip-flopper in all the GOP.Yet they voted OUT Senator Bob Bennett
for same the thing - and not NEARLY on the same level of the
"crime".There is no integrity using those confusing lines
of thinking. One can only therfore deduct, that Utahns support Mitt
Romney soley for his religion - NOT his political stand on issues or
