AK summed it up nicely.
The NBA is full of over paid punks!
I'm pretty sure Jerry Sloan quit because of Kirilenko's hairdo.
The only excersise some media types get is jumping to conclusions!!!!
Amen, Bugoff. For Sloan to quit because of an argument with a player is so out
of character to go far beyond ludicrous. This is a man who has never backed down
from anything or anyone in his life. The people who write that D Will forced him
out or that Greg Miller pushed him are looking through a very narrow and cynical
Riiiiiiight--spoiled players and a guy calling his own plays--that couldn't have
had anything to do with it. And each Jazz player puts a minty gumdrop in his
sneaker to help him rebound the golden gumball and magically float it through
the orange hope made of braided licorice sticks.Yeah--Coach Sloan
and Coach Johnson love each player like they are their own little boys and they
wanted to quit in midseason so they could enjoy watching them play all the more.
C'mon Utah--I know you're the land of "stay sweet" and
"Niceness in all things" but get real.
The media loves to stir up stink every chance it gets. They have to
sell newsprint and air time. They question every the honesty of
everyone they talk to and it gets pretty sickening. It's not news,
anymore, guys. You've stirred up all the stink possible.Get back to
reporting the news, PLEAS!
I've had tears and been totally bummed since the announcement yesterday up until
now. But as Karl Malone always said, "It is wot it is, now jes' deal wid
it." That is on my refrigerator and is the most sensible thing I can think
of in this situation. Speculations are only speculations and fun (I guess)to
pound out, but they not hard facts. We don't know what has been the reasons to
building up to this conclusion, but we can't do anything about it now. Let's
move on with optimism. I loved Ty Corbin when he was a Jazz player and followed
him through his career when he left. I'm happy they selected him to take this
coaching position, also for Scott Layden and (hopefully) Jeff Hornicek and (I
also hope) Gordie Chiesa (I love to hear him talk). I hope more people stay on
the bandwagon than jump off at this point. They need our support more than
ever.Go Jazzboys tonight! Stay together and make it happen with
Coach Ty Corbin. Life goes on.....
Phoenix is deep, big, and experienced. they can endure to the end...like LA used
to do. just turn up the heat in the second half and beat the Jazz banch without
much trouble. We have great talent there, just need some time to develop it. We
are however, in need of some sizeable talent. Will Fez ever make it? He could be
ominous with the right attitude. Big AL is showing some promise because he lives
playing here in Utah and has a winning attitude.
What incentive do ANY of the NBA players have to perform, stay later for
practices, etc?NONE! They get paid the same if they win or lose.
Practice or lounge around. And they get paid for multiple years. How
many of their fans get that same luxury? Get paid for just showing up for work?
That's the problem with the NBA and other professional sports.
They get guaranteed money based on 1 or 2 years of above average performance.
I think Karl Malone summed it up best. They have a retro floor, they have retro
uniforms. Maybe they should retro their work and just go to work. I am sure
the sports writers know more than they are telling. I wish they weren't so
afraid of getting off the good graces of the team and tell what they really do
It's time to move on folks. It's a done deal and there ain't no going back.Jerry is not going to un-retire like so many Pro athletes do. He's a man
of his word and I don't see him coaching anybody but maybe a little league team
