One of the smartest people in basketball. I always hoped this would happen
someday but thought another team would take him away before Jerry retired.
People dont realise the knowledge and mind this man has. He will be one of
the top coaches of the NBA.As fast as Doc Rivers or Danny Ainge became
great coaches I believe Tyrone Corbin will be there even faster. The Jazz
are very lucky to have him. Slaon took over for Frank Layton in a great way and
Tyrone Corbin will do the same.
Hey Ty,I Sincerely wish you the best. You have been a model of a player and a
human being for all of your basketball and personal life. Thanks for all you've
done for the Jazz organization and all you will do in the future. Please make
this team happy again which will undoubtedly make the players play better like
they were at the beginning of the season. And Dwill,I think you're great as
well.Too many people have forgotten the ten games you have won for us over your
career for everyone you have lost. Too many people have short memories of what a
great player you have been. I, personally hope you stay with the Jazz your whole
career. Players with toughness like yours are what the Jazz need now. I find it
funny that so many fans admired Sloan for his toughness, yet they find fault with
you when you display yours. tough people go head-to-head sometimes That's just
the way it is.Go Jazz.I won't be booing anyone on this team who gives effort and
There are plenty of reasons to believe Corbin will be a very good coach.
He will probably listen to the players a lot more and will make adjustments that
need to be made. This now becomes DWill's team. He will have a lot
more input. I think he will be a lot more creative and the offense will be more
flexible. It may also be possible for KOC to pull off a minor trade
and get some outside shooting? I do not expect Corbin to go 4-10 for
the next 14 games. There obviously were serious unaddressed issues the past
month. DWill is getting scapegoated on this. However, if the Jazz
start winning the nonsense will stop quite quickly. The truth is
that Jerry quit. DWill (nor any other player) does not have the power to push
Jerry out. Greg is the only one who could do that and he just signed an
extension 2 days ago. Sloan for whatever reasons decided to retire
and the Jazz need to move on.This next step is going to be very
interesting. Greg seems very committed to winning. This was a
surprisingly good team in NOV. Things will improve.
Go Coach Go...He deserves it... And I hope he goes far.
If Corbin is looking for an assistant coach with years and years of NBA
experience look no further than right here in town. Jim Boylen is minutes away
at the University of Utah. I am sure with his current situation there that he
would love to return to the NBA without uprooting his family. Please give him a
serious look and then hire him. Chris Hill could then begin looking for a new
head coach. Thanks.
I think the question that everyone wants to know but are afraid to ask will be
revealed tonight when the Jazz take the court..........Will Deron be wearing a
Good Luck Ty Corbin. My question is Ty has basically only been a
coach under Jerry Sloan. So I assume that we will be running the same plays the
same defenses and everything else that we have always run. Great for continuity
but how is this going to be better?
"This now becomes DWill's team. He will have a lot more
input."-BugOffYour statement here reminds me of a line from
Star Wars Episode III. The chancellor has just been made the emperor and given
emergency powers, with the promise that he will lay them down. As
Queen Amadila looks out, she says "So this is how liberty dies,
to thunderous applause."Giving power to the players is the
equivalent of jumping off a 40 foot cliff. It will not end well...........
*that was a typo, I meant to say 400 foot cliff.
Congratulations Coach Corbin!!! Jazz nation is behind you!
Big_Ben, I agree whole-heartedly. Any time a player gains more control than the
coach, it's done. I don't know about Corbin, and I wish him luck,
but how's it going to go down the next time DWill wants it to be his way?
