Re: "If you don't shout, no one will hear you."Maybe.
But, if you've wasted your life shouting silly, irrelevant, demonstrably wrong
political invective, taking the wrong side on virtually every issue, no one
listens, no matter how loud you shout. Even if you finally stumble onto
something important.Happy oblivion, Rocky. You've earned it.
How ironic for Rocky to be on "the high road". I guess there is
always a first time.
Lee,He loves attention, and this story gives it to him. But where
are the success stories? We all know that if he had any, you would have heard
about them.Mainly, though, why does he seek to alleviate crime,
hunger and poverty in Africa and India when there is plenty right here in Salt
Lake City?As you say, he served for eight years as mayor of this
city, but when he left there was just as much poverty as before he stepped into
office. And as for his biggest campaign promise, most of Main Street would still
be a ghost town if it weren't for the LDS Church.
Make no mistake about it. Ross Anderson cannot cede the high road. If he ever
had it in sight, he left it long ago in search of his own personal and
narcisstic agenda. It's a free country and he may do as he pleases, but meak or
not, he is on a high horse, but not a high road.Castigate me all you wish
naysayers, but on this one I goitalone if needed, and with no regrets.
BTW, I love the photo with Benson's article. How appropriate. To quote the
Late Lloyd Bentston of Texas, with some literary license, "Mr. Anderson, we
knew John Kennedy, and you're no John Kennedy."
It is tempting to join the chorus of nay-sayers with a sarcastic remark. But... I admire him for trying to do "the right thing." No matter if you lean right or left, being engaged, getting involved,
doing something that serves others at any level - is a good thing. Let's not
put him down for that.
It surprises me how many commenters are so eager to hate on Rocky Anderson. You make him out to be a loser.Which makes me wonder......how much of a loser's state Utah must be to have elected him to such
a public office!I thought Rocky Anderson did a great job advocating
for those whose voices were drowned out by the majority "culture" in
Utah. And this article shows he is doing the same today. What kind of pathetic person can find nothing good about that?Only
the pathetic kind who is still bitter that Rocky got elected years ago. That was years ago. Get a life and move on!
