great pickup for ESPN. Urban has a great football mind.
good old urban, quit so he could "spend more time with his family"
I'm sure being a sports analyst for ESPN is nowhere near as demanding as being
an FBS head football coach. He will be great. He had tremendous
insights during the national championship game a few weeks ago. I'm glad to hear
he'll be on board for many games in the future.
Urban Meyer, family man.
"When he resigned Meyer said he wanted to spend more time with his family.
His new job [won't] get in the way of that, with minimal commitment during the
offseason and travel only over the weekend in-season."----------No better way to spend time with your family than to be away on weekends
when they are out of school.
Hope he's replacing Craig James...or his little Munchkin pal Doug Flutie...Be
nice to hear a different broader intelect than both of those two combined
Quality family time with the crew at ESPN.
Hmm, looks like the BYU crowd is all here.
I'd love to watch a game called by Urban.
Can't wait to hear him on the BYU broadcasts. Won't be on any ute broadcasts on
fox sports regional.
As soon as he quits comparing everything to what he did in Florida, he'll be a
good analyst. I got a little sick of "yeah, I compare this to when we did
this or that at Florida..." during the National Championship game. Maybe most fresh analysts do this?Anyway, great football
mind. Hope he does well.
Urban knew that another season struggling at just over .500 would tarnish his
legacy. A couple of subpar seasons and he would have been gone, such is the
beast of major college football.
BYU fan here. But I love Urban. He'll be a good addition. Go cougs!
He said he wanted to spend MORE time with his family, not ALL of his time. I
love Urban. Not only does he have a great football mind, the man has a great PR
mind and understanding of human psychology. I was constantly impressed by him
during his brief stint at the U.
ugg, Urban was terrible before the Utah/BS game. No thanks, I don't want to
hear any more "enough about me talking about me, what do you think about
me" talk from one of the biggest sell outs in College Football.
Oh gee, I hope it's not too stressful for him.
Wow- I wonder if he'll still be referring to BYU as the 'team down south' when
asked to do analysis for their games.Unfortunately I can only handle
so much of some of the egotistical broadcasters and analyzers ESPN has, and I'm
sure he'll quickly join that group. (didn't care much for his
"analysis" before the Las Vegas bowl.
That Crystal football Urban is holding up looks exactly like the one I saw the
other day in BYU's Sports Hall of Fame. I wonder how U get one of
