Okur's struggles have been unfortunate, to say the least. He's a great player
and a great guy, and to see this happen to him is heartbreaking. On
another note, hopefully Coach will see fit to give Fesenko meaningful minutes at
center. He struggled a bit last night after missing three games, but he has a
role to play on this team, and when given the opportunity, he fulfills it. All
those miraculous comebacks earlier in the season started when he was on the
floor, providing defense and a little bit of scoring, again, playing his role
with the other guys on the court. That's the biggest difference between what
happened then and what's happening now. Once Memo is back in game shape, he
needs to play at PF alongside Fes in the second unit, and then the Jazz will
have some of that size and length on the floor for parts of the game that
they've been lacking.
Chuck, I agree with you but like I've said for a while now, I don't have any
trust in Sloan that he will play Fes and trust that he will give them what they
need. Sloan needs to play Fes like he did Eaton and not worry about his
contributions on the offensive end of the floor. When Fes plays significant
minutes it usually results in the Jazz outscoring their opponents. That is why
he has the best (or one of ) plus/ minus 's on the team. The most
disaappointing thing to me is the lack of effort and fire I see in the players,
they don't seem to care that much if they win or lose. I don't see them with
that fire and determnation to win. DWill sometimes tries to do too much on
his own but at least he cares and is trying to do all he can to win. I don't see
it in alot of the players, especially CJ.
Hopefully, bye, bye Sloan!
I agree when Fes recieved meaningful minutes we were winning and had a very
successful 2nd unit anchored by Fesenko's defensive presence in the middle. They
were bailing the starters out of a 1st quarter hole. Alot more rebounds were
going our way as well. He's not the total answer as of yet, but we need a center
and he's the closest thing we have to one right now. Why not see if more playing
would improve his performance? What other options do we have at this point?
