Kevin Garnett and big Shack stomped onto the floor to start the game. Then
Garnett beat on his chest and then let out a growl that must have scared
Jefferson and Milsap half to death. Judging from the way they fled away from the
paint like scared rabbits that is.
Jefferson's play continues to be susupect. His play and numbers are those of
Ronnie Price not some 6' 10" offender and defender. He began the
season learning but has since resorted to the Minnesota style of get the ball
and shoot. If you are a big and a starter and shooting less than 10% in a season
game, the coach needs to train you or find you some more bench time.Good thing we got him instead of Boozer..by the way how is Chicago doing.
Boozer continues to pour in his 20/10 while Jefferson shoots 1 for 11.
@Doug10, don't compare his play to Ronnie Price's. Ronnie Price plays with
courage, last week Big Al admitted that he doesn't like dunking. When
we got Big Al I was told that he was big enough to back his man into the low
post and score. I didn't realize he would get within 2 feet of the rim and then
fire off his hook shot. He needs to learn to be meaner in the post. Until that
happens, we are in big trouble.People talk about shaking up the
starting lineup. I really don't think we have anyone on the bench that could
start outside of Mehmet Okur. Maybe if Jefferson started at 4 he'd be able to
push the 4's around better than the 5's. Just a thought.
I agree JFFR. Al has the body to be a beast in the post, and for some reason he
seems reluctant to do so. It's frustrating to watch him get so close to the rim
and not dunk it or go up hard. I'm sure he's trying to avoid another injury,
but so far he seems to be doing great. He need to stop worrying and go for
it.I still think the Jazz will get this figured out. This is
basketball...things could turn around for the better at the drop of a hat and
they could go on a tear. Let's just hope they do it soon. I think it starts
Several times last night Millsap got to his favorite spot and when Jefferson got
there he didn`t know where to go.He finally went to the weak side where AK had
already taken up residence. If you watch this is happening a lot,I`m tellin you
all,Millsap and AJ are IN EACH OTHERS WAY.Memo is not 100 % yet but when he
is,HE NEEDS to start and sit AJ or MILLSAP
I agree with the Great Houdini--I have been less than thrilled with this guy and
he plays timid. I'm sure he does have a lot of respect for the team that drafted
him, but respect shouldn't translate into refusing to touch them on defense. Al
Jefferson plays with absolutely NO swagger. Bench him and put Memo in there and
lets start winning some 1st quarters. He could become a valuable contributor off
the bench, because the guy does have some talent and he gives you a different
look, but he should not be starting games right now and probably shouldn't be
Milsap played around the free throw line all night long. Was that by design? It
didn't work. The current line up of starting 3 power forwards and a washed up
shooting guard to run with D-Will is not giving us a chance. We have assets to
make line up changes or trade to make this team better, but will they? As a Jazz
fan on the outside looking in, it seems so obvious, why cant couach see it too?
Why do the writer's keep on insisting that "big" al is 6' 10"
when he's actually 6' 8 1/2 at best? Look at him beside d. howard & he looks
like his little brother..Playing out of position certainly isn't helping him
I'm not sure why he is listed at 6'10". I got his autograph the other day
and me at 6'0" did not feel he was much bigger than 6'7" 6'8".
There is no way is he 6'10".
i agree with Houdini...they need to start Memo...the reason is pretty
obvious...memo plays the mid - long range pretty well...meaning the low post
threat that we have on the lineup...could get his fave spots down low...either
al or millsap...it would be nice if we could get troy murphy...he is somewhat
like Memo..plays the perimeter but can rebound the ball...Murphy is a good
rebounder a few seasons back...it would be a good rotation...if we get both
murphy and memo inside...the paint would be open...and d-will could just slash
in and dish out...to either one...add two more shooters...and would be all
good...have you guys ever wondered what if we got Kevin Love instead of Big
