Riley makes good points. But the team is a team in name only. Lots of bricks
with little mortar. I suspect that will come with experience
together.Just as BYU's football team had talent and needed some
coaching changes and experience to perform properly, I believe Utah will do the
same. But... in between now and then, some misery, especially in the
Marriott Center. I doubt Boylen will coach in Utah next year.
Wrong riley. They stink and will continue to stink all year. That is probably
what ute "fans" prefer at this point (like it matters what they
prefer)so that boylen will get fired. There is no reason for
optimism. There is no reason for hope. There is no reason to continue even
caring about it because the only place they are going is down.
Sorry riley but it really is pretty much all gloom and doom. Oh, and your
womens team got thumped by BYU again as well.Oh well, you will
always have the rok.
The Utes are more talented this year and they've shown brief sparks of
improvement, but 22 turnovers against BYU shows they've got a long way to go.The biggest problem for the Utes is that even though they've improved,
so have Colorado State, Air Force and TCU, 3 of the 4 teams the Utes
realistically have a chance of beating. That leaves Wyoming, the next
opponent for the Utes.If the Utes can't beat Wyoming, they have
little chance of climbing out of the MWC basement.
Riley is right on some points here. Utah does have some talented players.
Watkins and Clyburn are nice players but are both JC transfers. O'Brien does
look like a nice freshman. Foster did look better against BYU as did Washburn.
The byu game the other night was a tough one to measure Utah off of because of
the way byu shot the ball. Personally, I thought Utah played about as good as
they could have in the first half but it didn't matter as Jimmer couldn't miss
anything literally! Most the TO's came in the second because they were pressing
to keep up with the hot shooting cougars. That said, with the talent
Utah has, they should be no worse than 12-5 or 11-6 right now if they were
coached well. Utah doesn't defend well, and they don't rebound well even though
they dominated the boards against BYU.Another thing is Boylen
doesn't recruit Utah. Or at least he can't sign any key in state players. This
is something Majerus was great at. Utahs got to get back to their roots going
into the Pac 12.
Riley your so red it hurts. The fans have bailed, the players have bailed. The
reason they are losing is because it's all about individual performance now.
There is no team at Utah. It's down to individual players making a name for
themselves. That's a trend that is a black hole of success.
Riley is an absolute homer spewing AD-directed propoganda. The Utes are bad.
Thier best players are JC transfers who had the fortune of receiving good
instruction at their prior institutions and are now being stumpded in their
growth by this incompetent Utah staff. How are the other players developing? I
have not seen a lick of improvement from Washburn and Glover, Tavita is gone,
Henderson is gone, Cyphers is gone. These coaches do ok, just ok, when they have
pleyers who have been significantly developed, but cannot appear to develop
players on their own nor teach the fundamentals of basketball that we all
appreciated in the Majerus-coached teams. And then there is the offensive
schemes, just horrible.
"I won't be making excuses for the 7-10 record and the 0-3 start in league
play."Then proceeded to make excuses.
Most Utah fans are way past gloom and doom; they've moved on to simply
"numb".I mean, how many losses to teams like SW Baptist
and San Diego can fans absorb before losing all confidence?A Utah
win nowadays is more of a surprise than an expectation.
Man this board is negative. I know it is January outside which is the toughest
month of the year to live in Utah but come on!! Riley makes some good points
and all there is is trash, trash, trash. Duckhunter, do you ever say or do
anything positive in your life? For whatever reason most of you hate the U so
much that you can't ever see the positive. I for one find it boring and
childish. I could find reasons to always find negative things to about the
teams I don't like but to expend that much negative energy is not healthy. I
khow you can point to many Ute fans that do the same thing but it is never good
to point to other bad behavior to justify your own.
Ducky and the rest...Get a life and go away.Riles makes
some good points. I have been pleased with the last two games and how the boys
have played as a whole. It's difficult to see when you are playing the #6 team
in the country and Jimmer the "show" can't miss a shot with a
blindfold on.This weekend will be a big one for me. If they can't
handle Wyoming, it will hit a different level.Go Utes!
yes it is gloom and doom for the Walking Uties they are horrible.
