Deron can't do it alone.I'm tired of AK's inconsistency.Troubling that the Jazz can't dominate on their home court.
I like how AJ played, I thought offensively this was one of his best as a Jazz.
CJ has got to find a way to become consistant, his outside shot is just too
inconsistant, if he is hitting the Jazz will probably win, but if he is missing,
like tonight it is hard for the Jazz to make it up. Someone needs to tell him to
adopt Ray Allens pre game workout / shooting schedule.Rebounding was a big
The Jazz should trade AK. 17 million? for what? He is not worth mid level. I
wish the Jazz would make a push for Iggy. Dont let the Mavs get him. We have
assets to make a deal happen. This team is good, but not great. Remember when
the Jazz traded Girececk to 76's for Korver? Right now people leave AK unguarded
and crowd the paint. AK got his head dunked on, seriously, UPGRADE NEEDED!LETS
This town has been in love with AK seemingly forever. The Heat are playing to
theyr'e potential, fact is they are a better team than the Jazz if 4 starters
like tonight play that way every night. The only weak spot is Arroyo and that
could be exposed in the playoffs by Boston when the teams likely meet in the
East Final..However, the Jazz got exposed for one of the few times
this season with the biggest complaint I ever had on SLoan philosophy----3 point
field goals. The Jazz have been one of the best defensively on 3s
allowed and rotations have improved. Tonight, however, outscored by 21 from 3s.
Nothing else mattered. That was the difference. Lebron hit some tough ones
early. However, on most of the others, again too much separation between
defender and shooter.AJ was great. Millsap held his own and came
on. Raja was fine. CJ was not. He is still too up and down. DWIL was not his
best tonight and his one negative is he is still not shooting well from 3 point
line.I felt Price and Watson needed more time tonight. SLoan
thought game would get away...
The Jazz need Okur back. All the experts said at the beginning of the
season that the Jazz would really miss how Okur spaces the floor, but what the
Jazz are really missing is Okur's consistent rebounding. The Jazz got
out rebounded 42 to 28, and let Miami get 15 offensive. I'm pretty sure that
they have been out rebounded in every loss this season.I see Okur's
ability to space the floor as a luxury, but his ability to rebound as a
necessity. If the Jazz can turn around their rebounding woes they can contend,
if not, I see them getting the 6th or 7th seed.
I know Sloan will not likely do this. However, I think CJ is better to start
than come off the bench. If he gets a couple early it feeds him to have a big
game. I am also leaning to want CJ to get back in starting lineup at #3 with
Millsap and AJ and Kirilenko off the bench,AK gets off to bad starts
it seems then comes on later somewhat with his shooting. The Jazz it appears as
we are getting more into the season, I would have to agree for once with DOug10,
that Okur is needed. We need his 3 point shooting to open things up for AJ and
Paul. They are doing well, earning the points but always seem to be swarmed
with tough defense by taller and longer guys. AJ is not 6'10 guys and gals,
more like 6'9 tops. Once the Jazz have a full and complete healthy
squad, then we will have the answer looking for by the trading deadline. There
will be enough time to see, if a full squad is seriously capable of challenging
the Lakers and at least getting to the West Finals. Or just another team
It was just great was it not? Awesome performance by the Heat.
Too much is made of getting 2 fouls in the first half and sitting down. Last I
checked you were allowed 6. Knock somebody down, use the fouls. Princess James
had his way all night. CJ and AK should both be traded by the deadline. At least
Harpring did not say D-Will is the leagues best point guard all night long as he
proved last night that he isn't.
Jazz shot 1-14 from the 3. The Heat shot 9-20. That's the difference maker
right there. Is CJ really worth keeping around for his one good
game out of every five?
If cj is the go to guy we are in trouble...he seems to launch bricks at the most
I feel that Sloan does not trust his 2nd team well enough yet. The Watson/Price
combo was not utilized to start the 4th. That is when Williams gets a bit of a
breather and allows those two to have a pit bull attitude on defense to spark
the Jazz.CJ has to quit looking for 3s when he hits the floor.
Attack the basket, get a flow going, then pop the 3s.
Is it too late to swap CJ for Matthews??? LOL
CJ is a run killer for us and run enabler for the other team....Jacking up
three's at critical times enabling the heat to get a long rebound and run cost
us the game in the 4th. Sloan finaly realized it and yanked him, unfortunatly
the damage was done and they ran out to a 10 point lead. Deron also has to be
smarter in the 4th, forcing passes at critical times have killed us in several
Wow What a bunch of crybabies here. Like always. Game loose fire coach trade
everybody who has bad game. You guys don't even spare star player . Last year
someone wanted to trade Deron. Jazz playing sloppy lately. I guess
preparation or some mental staff and Deron not playing well. Without Fes second
unit is too small. Last game Jazz was soft no hard foul ( Fes is good at it).
Queen was all over place. It's NBA you cannot come out flat and win
AK is a 17 million dollar starter. AK is getting paid SUPERSTAR MONEY!!!people
are blaming CJ streaky play, who cares he is not a starter and he is not getting
paid SUPERSTAR MONEY. AK is past his prime! If anyone on this starting 5 has
been exposed, it is AK. Lebum left AK wide open to shoot jumpers and packed the
paint. No team respects the Jazz outside shooting. If I were game planning to
play the Jazz I would force the Jazz to shoot jumpers and pack the paint too.
The Jazz need a scoring threat from the wing and please don't say Memo is the
cure, he will help, but this offense is way to inconsistent. The Jazz need an
athletic shooter to help D-Will. Raja should be coming off the bench, we need
our 2 guard to avg. 15-20+ pts.
Guys, you can't win all 82. We got 'em at their place when they played less
than great, and tonight at our place, we played less than great and they took
it. They're one of the top teams in the East - no great shame in
losing this one - step away from the ledge. Now if we lose to the
T-Wolves again this year...
No one is calling for SLoan to be fired, we are making comments on the game and
trends lately like human beings do. Okur rebounding, low post option and
shooting is becoming more obvious. What may have taken me 40 years too long to
learn is this:The first month of the season has only some meaning
that every win then you do not have to get later. The Season to me really
starts in January. After 2 months as we are learning, things even out. Teams
like New Orleans fades (as I predicted), others that get off to slow starts like
Atlanta, Orlando and Miami and Denver come on..As we are all
noticing, the Jazz are starting to see opponents for the 2nd time, and some
later 3rd and 4th. These teams are figuring out how to slow us down and are
making adjustments. As the season wears on, the weaknesses are always
exposed.I thought the Jazz should have tried to acquire a wing on
off season like Joe Johnson or Andre I.Okur is needed back for any
chance at a long playoff run. That is reality. Size, shooting, low post,
rebounding, etc etc
There is a scale that I feel is the most vital to team success a different plus
minus: It is a PLUS figure-Pete Arbogast former USC basketball play by play
discussed this when I first heard it and it makes a lot of sense.Road Wins-Home Losses. This gives you an idea where a team is, the
higher plus the better.Ideally a Plus 0-10 means a decent season
with a chance at the playoffs.Plus 10 or more is getting elite.Example: Ideally you want to win 3/4 of home games and a little over
half the road, of course you would like to do better,.If a team goes
31-10 at home and 22-19 Road that is 53 wins...So you can see a plus 9, 10 or
more is ideal. What is concerning the Jazz are only doing a little
better than they should have but not much. Much of road wins are now being
offset by home losses, and the road wins will not continue at this pace. Now it is only plus 2--7 road wins, 5 home losses. At this
pace we will only finish Plus 7
Trade CJ so that we have no scoring off the bench. Great idea...........When LeBron and Wade are both on fire, you are not going to beat the
Heat. Simple as that..........Jerry played his starters too many
minutes and it showed in the fourth quarter. Miami closed out the game and the
Jazz didn't........It's one game....Move on
I agree with CJ. Way too many minutes
A lot of wagon jumpers on today. It is not the end of the world. When things are
going good, everything is great, loose a game and you want to get rid of
everybody. It will be ok.
We have been winning games because Jerry was using Watson and Price. Last night
he didn't even look at the bench for minutes. Bad idea.
The Jazz starters were played too many minutes in the first quarter. AK and
whoever was supposed to be accountable for Wade failed to keep track of him and
Lebron during key moments of the game. Anyone in their right mind don't let
these players roam unaccounted for all game long. You put a body on them before
they have any chance to touch the ball. Unfortunately no one is on the Jazz
roster to do that job.Miami is just a superior team and nothing can
be done by Sloan to stop them. So quit complaining and enjoy the action. AK
was off on his shooting, so he was relatively worthless. The way the game
unfolded, players like Millsap and CJ did not get enough touches. The Jazz got
killed on the boards, so their number of posessions were critically limited.
The "Z" man, Ilgastus buried the Jazz with unmolested outside
shooting. The Jazz don't match up with anybody in the league, so they must play
that disgusting zone defense, which doesn't work on teams like Miami. You gotta love this "league". The only better league is the NFL.
