D-will once again owns Chris Paul.
Why does it take the local news outlets longer than to post a full article about
the Jazz than it does the national outlets like ESPN?
Now carve up the Lakers if you can. Coach Sloan, you seem to be doing wonders
with this current lineup. It is really fun to once again really enjoy the Jazz
as a fan. Boozer was a huge distraction and added little, thanks for
bringing on players who love the game and love where they play.
Jeremy did such a great job, I could tell barely it was not Dan Roberts here
since 1979, similar to POP.Far as the game, what a tremendous night
of Pro Basketball that $100 would have been worth for a ticket. So
many positives from Raja improved shooting to DWIL spectactular play all the way
to the bench.Offense and Defense. I liked when Matt Hapring said
"never leave a corner open on 3s". The Jazz are recognizing this
better, It is showing. Last year I would always see teams have couple guys
just cherrypick behind the line, not so much now.I like the Combos
of Watson and Price and Elson and Fes together. Elson is scoring a bit he has a
nice 15-18 footer. I knew Earl would help us once he played like the old
swashbuckler.Fes contributed but had stupid fouls. The loose ball
foul after missing a put back but he could ave been ejected for the flagrant
foul. He did well helping protect the paint. The thing is he looked upset
after being pulled the 2nd time but at himself so is healthy he is recognizing
Paul is always great. I am falling in love with Jefferson the more I see him.
This team has great chemistry. AJ is helping the Jazz defense, passing the
whole ballpark far better than Snoozie did.I feel New Orleans made a
fatal mistake trading Peja. He is a vet not the best last 2 years, due to age
and injuries. He still provides a shooting threat to open up Defenses. You
have to let a veteran have time to get comfortable again. As the
season wears Chris and West the 2 superstars on the Hornets will get more
frustrated, when the help is not there. It is a team by the end of
the season will be fighting to finish higher than #7 at best in Seeding.
Particular when Bird Man and Kenyon come back for Denver.
Awesome game tonight from top to bottom!!!!! Now, let's bring on the Fakers and
get the win!!!
what a great game from fes hahaha. memo. were ready for your return.
I went to my first game in 4 years and took 3 of my girls with me. We had the
Jr. Jazz special for tickets in the upper bowl. I know I paid for cheap tickets
but they could have shown more love to the upper bowl people with a few more
prizes or camera shots of us dancing. I enjoyed the game but will probably not
return to watch another one.
To soccer coach, you're probably a great person and I would like you in real
life but if you and your possey don't go to any more games because you weren't
loved or given some nice prizes for attending the game then you can still watch
the games on tv. Then, those seats that you were taking up could be occupied by
people who want to go because they love the game and are there to support our
A fun game to watch. Congrats to the guys for an excellant effort.
To the author: Jody, Jazz-nation needs your help. When Kirilenko doesn't worry
about his offensive numbers and just plays basketball, his overall contribution
is fantastic. Blocks, help-defense, steals etc. are a huge part of Jazz
success. To that end, it does NOT HELP when you make a comment
about his offensive productivity (or lack thereof). Case in point ... IMHO,
your reference to AK going 0-6 with no points did NOT contribute to your article
but did serve to heighten AK's focus on offense, which we don't need.Perhaps you're not inclined to take suggestions about your reporting from a
reader. However, if you are, may I suggest that, unless it's a vital part of
your article, please refrain from commenting on AK's offense. Laud his defense
and overall contribution or simply omit him from your article.
@Observation:I agree totally. There is not a basketball player alive who
sometimes can't throw the ball in the ocean. It happens to all and the best of
them. There are things he does in his total game that do not show up in the box
scores. Where this is a team effort someone will always have to be picked up. I
think Elson is one of the better backup centers the Jazz have had. And how about
that Evans..?? This kid is going to sell some tickets..
to jody : it would have been better served if the 0 for 6 was the headline.
since the Jazz don't need more offense from the starting 5, the best move coach
could EVER make would be to replace one russian with another(sit andrea for BIG
Fes). andrea's best years are 5 years in the rear view mirrow. andrea added to
his ALL time worst shooting % last nite. Until Fes gets the 20 mins.a nite, he
will not excel. Fes will be needed badly Friday nite. Who will andrea guard,
Lamar--don't think so !
And why was Fess replaced so fast out there?? Stupid fouls, acting like a big
sixth grader. For as big as he is he should totaly dominate. They would be much
better served playing Evans in Fess place..
cj miles played his best game ever against the hornets. It is not about the
stats. It is about the teams effectiveness of defense and offense and how a
player either helps to facilitate that or takse away from it (destroy their
chances). cj played a complete game last night and did not take away from the
production of the Utah Jazz. Also I love Watson, Price, Elson and Big Fess on
the floor with cj. Two points, two Centers and cj it is pretty exciting to
watch. Up and down, up and down, up and down, it's making people dizzy and it
is very effective at this point.
I hope cj can continue to play this way and realize that it about exucuting
offense & defense on each and every possession that will build a complete
ball player and translate into w's and overall success and respect.
todd, Fess's foul was better than watching Booz and Memo wave at somebody as the
went by. I have no problem with it. Things are looking better around here,
except for the loss of Wess Matthews. Earl, Cisco, Raj, are getting it done.
The rooks show promise for the future. These are some of the the good times in
HAPPY THANKSGIVING Jazz fans!Enjoy your family, friends & loved
ones during the Holiday.
Last couple years Doc, it was fun rooting for the Jazz but it was almost at
times like when game night approached. "oh ok it is time, and like a job or
requesite chore to watch".Now, I look forward counting time
down to tipoff. I see an organization from coaches, to GMS to players that are
doing the job and on the same page..There is a spirit to win around
here. Even Millsap last year at times looked lazy not fighting on d or every
board when Boozer was around. When Okur comes back, this will be a
"defining moment" in his career and legacy he could have in Utah. That is I will not lie. I am very concerned, he is going to ruin the
Defensive structure, no one should tolerate, coach, player or fan, waving lazy
1/2 hearted efforts. Allowing his post man to go around him like air or no
resistance.Mr. Okur is capable when he wants of playing acceptable
defense even to the point of blocking shots. He is capable, I have seen it.
Just not on the level needed or now demanded
I guess it takes two point guards to replace D-Will, but the caffeinated duo of
Watson and Price did just that. And did it well last night. They add a burst of
energy to the Jazz that effects everyone else including the fans. That was fun
to watch last night. I also like the combination of Watson and D-Will. When
D-Will gets the ball coming off screens and on the move he is deadly. Sloan
should do that more.
Yo todd. so what defensive structure are we talking about here. . . The
foul-em-as-they-drive-by defense? Yeah, thats about the only thing the jazz
aren't proving this year. is having a sound defense. everything else seems to
have improved upon the arrival of big al. woot.
I worry a little about Okur coming back and how well he will play D, he never
has been real good at it and often looked terrible with his olay defense as
players drive by. I agree he can play OK but often didn't.Fes didn't have
the best game and his flagrant foul was stupid but he still brings energy and
toughness and a presence in the middle no other Jazz player can bring. If
winning is the name of the game what Fes brings to the game is essential and he
should continue to get minutes. The defense that second unit plays is the reason
they are able to out play the other team while they are on the floor and Fes is
a big reason for that. Those who can't see Fes's positive impact on the game, I
question your ability to see and understand the game.CJ had a good game, I
just hope he can regain his hot hand, it will be needed.I love what young
Evans brings and his potential but he can't replace what Fes does or brings to
