"The Utes will honor 18 seniors before their final game at Rice-Eccles
Stadium on Saturday. All 18 are Seniors in eligibility, while Matt Asiata is
also a Senior Citizen. Asiata says it will be disappointing to finally end his
career after 45 years as a Ute, but the blow is softened by the fact he will now
get discounts on movie tickets and early-bird dinners everywhere."
Matt Asiata: 23 years old during last year of college footballMax
Hall: 24 years old during last year of college football. If Max
didn't hate all the Utes so badly, maybe he could join Matt for an early dinner
and a discounted movie ticket. Really....you are going to bang on a guy that is
23 years old leaving the program as a BYU fan? Hahaha....good one!
Well played!Go UTES!!!
Matt is actually a few months youger than Harvey Unga who would still be in
college right now if he hadn't been forced to leave. What's funny is that byu's
own website doesn't list the age of the players (everyone else in college
football does)Atleast half that team is older than Matt Asiata probably more.
Basically Matt is just a 5th year senior. Very common in college football. Nice
try though. NOT
Grow up yewties, it was a joke. You'll all be ok I promise.
Humble; that was funny. The rest of you lighten up. It was tongue in cheek and
it was in good fun. Here's to a great rivalry. There have been so many
good games between these two teams. Too bad a potentially great experience has
to be tainted for some by a few losers in the stadiums each year. I wish all the
players well; no injuries and I hope they all play to their potential. Hopefully
BYU will win but either way I am hoping for another last play of the game
victory. Hope both teams win their bowl games this year also.
Lacking a little sense of humor, folks? Seriously, I'm sure Matt is
a good guy, but even he would say he's been at Utah FOREVER. In fact, I'm quite
sure he wishes his career would've finished sooner -- and two major injuries
I am sure the folks that play against the Utes feel like Asiata has been at Utah
forever. That is how it always feels when someone is good for a long time. A
great career that unfortunately had too many injuries. Hopefully he gets a shot
in the NFL because he could have a decent career if the injury bug stays away.
As a Ute fan, does anyone else find the picture attached to this
article of Johnson and Roderick running disturbing? Interesting selection of an
article that says the Utes have their swagger back.
actually he's really only been there 4 years which is kind of normal isn't it?
granted, he should have been there for two, but we all know the story behind
that. either way, good joke. in good humor, i saw a funny poster
at a physical therapy office the other day on one side that had a couple byu
fans with their shirts off, faces painted, and crazy blue clown wigs and on the
other side it had the first presidency of the church (which at the time was
presidents hinckley, monson, and faust) waving U flags. made me laugh.
Swagger back? They were lucky ... AGAIN!
Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.
"They were lucky...AGAIN!" You don't get much luckier than a blown
call, on REPLAY, in order to beat that same team by a field goal, at home!
