It was interesting to read about the points scored for and against both BYU and
Utah. After getting blown out by Air Force, who would have thought the Cougars
play better defense than the Utes in the conference? BYU gave up garbage time
TDs with their third stringers in two weeks that added some points against as
well. It will be interesting to see if BYU's defense can force turnovers from
Wynn and the Utes. It should be a fun game as long as Heaps can limit his
mistakes. BYU has moved the ball consistently against the Utes in the running
game for the past 5 or so seasons and if they can do it this year I think they
will win. On a completely separate note: I congratulate the Highland
Rams on their state title last week. As a former player (2004) I am so happy for
Coach Benson and the school. I appreciated Sorenson's article about Highland
needing to stay in 4A. It was the right decision.Stay classy,
bloggers. Go Cougars!
BYUBenji: Utah gave up garbage time points against the same teams and beat them
by a combined score of 153-30. using your logic, it's hard to believe that
Utah's offense is better than the "storied offensive" team down south.
Funny how when Utah teams were doing that, they were cupcakes but, when TDS does
it, They're the best team ever. But then again, we knew the kitties were
"offensive" even when they don't score points.
Utah has the advantage this game but again the two teams always have close games
no matter what kind of season they are having. I expect the Utes to be fired up
and win this game.
It will be a close battle like nearly every BYU-Utah game is. However, BYU seems
to have alot of momentium and confidence coming to this game. Utah on the other
hand escaped sandiego with a close win and was very fortunate to come away with
the win. I think BYU has the advantage here, I like the way they are playing and
they are progressing nicely each week. The utes on the other hand haven't looked
right since before the air force game. Utah will get up for this game as will
BYU and home field advantage never seems to mean much in these rivalry games.
The 10 point spread is way too high if you ask me, if history is any indication
this game will be another close one right down to the end and could once again
be decided on the final play. Go Cougars!
