As glad as I am that we won we still gave up way too many offensive rebounds.
Oh well. Go Jazz!!!
I am glad, Watson efforts were noticed, because we may not have won without it.
He is proving his worth in these colors now because he is back to the old
flashy, pesky, hustling Watson from Sonic days.AJ much maligned
comes back. Give the man some credit, he abused Marcus.CJ was great
and when he is, the Jazz are much more dangerous. Price and Watson together has
been a good idea by the coaches and both played a key role rallying back from
the 9 point deficit in the 4th quarter. We are getting hurt still on
the boards. Portland helped us down 96-92 they missed 4 3s in a row, after 3
offensive rebounds on one possession.Aldridge had 8 turnovers, the
"overrated" Andre Miller 5. Portland had 10 more
rebounds, 24-6 offensive. The Jazz played good initial defense on
these possessions. The funny thing I thought the Jazz would win
tonight. Now we need to start winning at home, Hornets and LA in this
week. We need all 3 starting with Sacramento Monday.Unfortunately,
no Evans and Fes, little Hayward. The Sloan biases are back. Hope
This week against the likes of David West, Okafor and the Hornets and Lakers, we
have to do better on the glass or we will lose 2 more home games.....Home
cooking has to start because the next month is favorable, and we can make major
headway in the NW divsion. To be just 1/2 gane behind OK City after
14 games, if someone told me at the start we would be (9-5) as unconventionally
this has been, everyone would have accepted it.
I'm surprise CJMiles has posted and gloated about how CJ played. CJ did
have a great game and it is that kind of game I feel he can have a lot more
often than he does. Potential wise he can give us that if he will work hard at
it.I like how he didn't just shoot the 3's, he drove alittle and he was on
the floor after loose balls and he rebounded pretty good.Keep it up CJ, we
need you.I'm still frustrated that Fes isn't getting playing time, he
helps more than he is being given credit for. We need him in the middle.I
thought Big Al had a pretty good game and it is that kind of game we need from
him on a regular basis.I like Price's energy and toughness, he is a spark.
So glad Fez isn't in the rotation anymore. Looks like the coaches finally
realized what I've been sayin about Fez. That he can't play. Elson is filling in
much better. Still can't wait for Memo to come back. We need him desperately.
Road Worriors? Need to win at home too!
We are many games into along season and Al Jefferson is now beginning to give
the Jazz performances that Boozer gave each night. I hope he can ramp it up and
become the star the Jazz are hoping for.Atta boy CJ.Millsap should be about due for another 40 point outing.
"...tickling the twine and torturing the crowd..."Great
line!Miles hasn't always fit in with Jazz fans, in that he's never
quite been accepted as a traditional "Jazzman."I admit I
felt this way, although I've always liked the guy and wanted him to stay with
Utah. But after last night's performance he just felt like a Jazzman to me, like
he belongs here in the system. My favorite CJ stat of the night
wasn't his tickling of the twine though. It was his five, desperately-needed
re:gdot can't be anymore wrong about your comment pertaining to Fes....I guess
it's a good thing when the other team out rebounds you & destroys you on the
offensive glass 2 nites in a row ????????? I guess having a giant in the paint
would not help ??????????????
I still think the Jazz are a work in progress. They have potential to be very,
very good though. What are the chances the team stays together for 3-4 yrs?
Does AK come back at what he is really worth, $7-8M? How would collective
bargaining effect the Jazz vs the elite teams with outrageous salaries. Jazz
have always put together solid teams and seldom paid a luxury tax. I believe
they would crush teams that spend so much more Boston, LA, Miami, Dallas) if the
playing field were leveled only slightly (money gap narrowed). As it is those
elite teams outspend everyone by 20-30M a year.Hope a hard cap is
instituted and teams are forced into it within 1-2 yrs.Go Jazz
I guess the coaches and a few other people who have no clue are to dumb to
realize that the one who has been the energy off the bench in almost every come
from behind win is KFez. The Jazz were dominated on the boards last night as Fez
sat on the bench watching. That's just stupidity. Thanks to CJ
shooting out of his head and a horrible shooting game by Portland we pulled it
out but what is the matter with the coach.
Like most others, I am confused about Fez' lack of playing time. He was clearly
an impact player in all of those come-from-behind wins. Obviously, there is
something going on that we cannot see. I don't want to second-guess the coach's
disipline practices but this one does frustrate me. I sure would like to see
Fez back on the floor.
I had to switch between the UTE game and this game. I thought that i was going
to disapointed, with both games but way to go Jazz and Utes.
Gdot-aka-whitelighting:Sorry cowboy,You can't coach size. No matter how
much you dislike Fes. this next week his size may come into play.Relax dude.Next
year we will have another 7plus foot center that will not rebound(Tomic).
CJ went off last night.... does this mean he'll shoot 4 for 23 over the next 3
games....too streaky for my liking. Win the one game he plays well and lose the
games he shoots 1 for 7...
Great game by Miles and overall team effort, we were fortunate that Portland
wasn't making any shots down the stretch but giving up so many offensive
rebounds especially 3 in a row on the same possession at crunch time is
unacceptable and needs to be corrected. I also noticed that the officials have
been making some horrible calls against Utah that quite possibly may have cost
them a few games: the Oklahoma game where Durant clearly hammered Miles yet the
officials call the foul on CJ, the San Antonio game where that critical
offensive foul was called on Jefferson even though the replay showed that all he
did was turn and shot, he did not foul Duncan whatsoever. There were also a few
questionable calls in this game as well ( LOL I didn't even know that an
assistant athletic trainer could be called for a technical foul, what's next
they're gonna start T up the fans? ) even though we won. I don't know if Tomic
is coming in next year considering he signed a 3 year contract extension to
continue playing in Europe.
Have you noticed that Fes' playing time stopped early last week after he caught
an elbow to the chin from Miles? Had to leave the game, needed stitches,
developed a bad headache and dizziness during the second half, did not practice
the following morning, citing dizziness.I am wondering if the
coaches decided he should have played through all that, like Bell did after his
stitches in the same game, and are trying to send Fes the message that he's got
to get tougher -- and if he doesn't, he's not going to play.
When the Jazz finish plays strong and hit the jump shot, we are tough to beat.
Getting out hustled and out rebounded is not going to translate into many wins.
The Jazz cant play a whole season like this can they? Anyone else think this
Jazz team needs another score, someone to replace Bell as a starter, and bring
Bell off the bench where he belongs?
I know it makes for an exciting game but these come from behind victories are a
little nerveracking. Maybe our plan is to play bad and the beginning and lull
them in to a false sense of security before, BAM walking up sometime in the 3rd
quarter and going on to victory. I love the Jazz, and any win is a good win,
but can't we win one where we play great for 48 minutes???
Re Rick, Shaybo, Ed : I agree guys, I can't understand why the coaches keep Fes
on the bench when he has brought energy and defense that have been so
instrumental in the come back wins the Jazz had on the east road trip.If
winning is the name of the game, Fes needs to be in the game a lot more. Fes
changes the way the other team plays, he controls the paint and most of the time
his impact is, the Jazz score more than their opponent when he is on the
court.Re Gdot-aka-whitelightning : Why is it you can't see how Fes changes
the game for the better? Is it because he doesn't score? There is alot more to
the game than scoring, defense is half the game, Fes has alot of room for
improving and lot of things he needs to do alot better but he truly make a
positive impact on the game.I am a big CJ fan but have been very
frustrated by his inconsistent play, I feel he has the ability&potential to
play like he didlastnight often but his history of inconsistency causes me alot
@AFCougWow. You just said the exact same thing I've been trying to
express for months. Jazz fans should be patient, because they have a lot of
reasons to hope.
