This man's scenario is just as plausible and believable as any other scenario.
So far nothing is known or proven other than the woman has disappeared on her
own recognizance or kidnapping, neither of which has been explored. The police idea of investigating is a narrow minded approach. They have done
nothing to look for the lady and everything to try and prove a crime that may
not exist. Law enforcement is very creative and prejudiced in investigations and
how fixated they get on a single scenario. What about all scenario's? Women and
men have disappeared all the time for many years by their own hand. Family's
friend's, coworkers, and others never really know someone the way they think.Elizabeth Smart is another case where law enforcement had it in their
minds it was a family affair of murder when she disappeared and where in the
process of creating evidence to punish the mother and/or father for her
disappearance. The parents were the only people of interest. Bet you don't
remember that either.
Come on, Josh! You gotta do better then this. All these weeks/months of staying
mum and this is what you say? If you're so willing to talk to a newspaper
reporter in the comfort of mommy & daddy's home, why don't you "chat" with some
law enforcement officials while connected to a lie detecter? I know they'd love
to talk with you. Those usually come in handy in helping "criminal"
investigations. If you're so innocent, what do you have to lose, pal?
What ever happened about the spot on the rug that had a fan on it drying when
the cops busted in the house ? Did they ever figure out what it was? I can
understand why people don't want to talk to the cops, but can't he take his
lawyer with him so they don't bully him and just answer some simple basic
questions? I guess it really doesn't matter...there is no bringing her back if
she's dead. Some things God just has to take care of. And He will. May God bless
all the innocent parties.
This guy is such a bald-faced liar!
Agrees with Cats @ 7:48Josh is full of lies.. this is just an
attempt to redirect the focus away from his guilty self.
re My2cents:Sounds like you should investigate this crime if you
know so much. Get after it.
People think they really know somebody. Her friends and family say "she would
never do that." Nobody really knows anybody. Who knows what her state of mind
was. And yes Josh still looks as dirty as ever in this case. What troubles me is
his statement about "grinding hamburger". I am still leaning toward the husband
as the guilty party. When I was growing up the police meant something and would
help solve most situations. Not the case today.
On a second note Their is only one and maybe two people for sure who know where
Susan is. Susan and Josh. Everything else is speculation at this point. Here's
to a happy ending..
I believe Josh Powell was treated UNFAIRLY from the start. Especially by the
PUBLIC! We in Utah who are supposed to be "Loving" and "Non-Judgmental" need to
think twice about who we are and who we are supposed to represent! I think
personally those who are "Country Club LDS MEMBERS" are about the most
judgmental egotistical and harshest people I know. I am ashamed for them, and
they should be ashamed of themselves for keeping their children from playing
with other children, from back-biting and being so cold to others. If these
types of people were not so judgmental imagine what the growth rate of the
church would be here in Utah! I feel badly for the family, and for Josh, and
especially those children. More so, I feel sorry for those who judge wrongfully
and are not accepting of "Outsiders" and those who need special love and help.
As for those who live the way the Savior would have them live, I applaud you,
because it is people like you that keep me coming back to church every week!
re My2centsGreat comment. The Cox family spokesperson calls Josh
Powell's statements baseless, but their own comments are baseless. Hundreds of
people have been working to find evidence of a crime, but there is nothing. But there is evidence she had separate checking accounts and was
planning on leaving her husband. The point is that the majority of
people believe Josh Powell is guilty because of what the Cox family and friends
have said in statements and Josh Powell's shady camping story. But when there is
some evidence that shows Susan was preparing to leave and statements that make
Susan Powell look bad, the majority of people largely ignore this. The bottom line is no one knows and there is no clear evidence that points in
either direction. The best case scenario is that Josh Powell is right and the
majority is wrong. That means Susan Powell is alive. I want to believe Josh
2cents-Does the LDS bashing just come out of your mouth on every Utah related
subject?Do you have some magical way of determining that someone
commenting on a Deseret News article is LDS?And if someone finds Josh's
story more than a little suspicious, (remember the whole story-Josh takes boys
camping in the middle of the winter, wife disappears, something wet on the
carpet with a fan running to dry it out when the police arrive)I agree
that there clearly is not enough evidence to convict. But to attack anyone
who disagrees with you, and then to assume that they all must be Mormons is just
ignorant and small minded.
There is plenty of evidence of a crime. Since they only get one chance to prove
it, they want to make sure all the bases are covered.Whatever
happened to common sense? His story is so unbelieveable. Who in their right
mind takes very young kids camping in the middle of the night, in the middle of
a blizzard in December? Do you honestly believe he "forgot" what day of the
week it was when he didn't show up for work? Yes, people do get their days of
the week mixed up, but it lasts a few seconds before they realize it. That
usually happens when there is a holiday or people are on vacation. Not when you
have a predictable weekly schedule. He had attended church that morning. He
didn't forget it was actually Monday. What about the wet spot on the carpet?
Use your minds people.
Okay, I'll try again. I won't call my2Cents an idiot this time. Did she access
her bank account? Surely if she was planning to leave and had a separate account
she would have emptied it. Also the police went after a suspect in the Smart
case and he died in jail.
So. Cal Reader: The cops can't prove there was a crime committed so why should
he talk to them.LaBronna's Mom: Lots of people use a fan to dry a
carpet that has just been cleaned. No mystery there.
snowman: How many people use a fan to dry carpet, in between a
houseguest's Sunday visit AND taking their children "snow camping" in the
winter? If you're thinking Susan Powell cleaned the carpet herself,
WHY would she bother doing that if she planned to run away?If you
read the Tribune, you'll find Josh's father says it was a "juice spot" and under
the sofa. What kind of a late-Sunday emergency was it, under the
We should all send our compliments to the local police for this stellar job of
solving the crime.
Reasonable Person: I do it to keep my kids off of the wet carpet. No mystery
here. Lots of families go camping in the winter. Scouts do it all the time.Hellooo: Helllooooo, they can't prove a crime was committed.
