Most Americans are concerned with jobs and the economy, so of course Mr Boehner
chooses to ignore that and begin a campaign to repeal health care.
'Republicans promise an era of limited government'
'Bush signs the Patriot Act Oct. 26, 2001' - By ANDREW GLASS - 10/26/07 -
Politico Line: 'On this day in 2001, President Bush signed the
USA Patriot Act, an anti-terrorism law drawn up in response to the attacks on
the Pentagon and World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001.(sic)
Opponents have cited its authorization of indefinite detentions of immigrants;
"sneak and peek" searches through which law enforcement officers search a home
or business without the owner’s or the occupant’s permission or
knowledge; the expanded use of "National Security Letters," which allow the FBI
to search telephone, e-mail, and financial records without court orders; and the
expanded access of law enforcement agencies to government records, including
library and personal financial records. ' 'Audit: US can't

Pretty straight forward. Return the government and earned income to the people.
Let us spend it, not the politicians. Tax us when we spend it, not when we earn
The party of "No" promising an era of limited government. The health insurance
and oil companies are indeed celebrating right now.
Hip hip hooray for less government! Republican's believe America needs:Less regulation of Wall Street,More laws that infringe
upon civil liberties, such as the Patriot Act,Tax cuts that further
expand the deficit,No legislation dealing with immigration,More defense spending,More wars,etc...Funny thing is, government has historically grown under Republicans. Good
luck, GOP. The next two years will surely strengthen Obama's chances of being
As a Republican the message is that we are not happy with what either party has
done and demand changes. We can do it again in two years. The newly elected
need to act responsibly and care about the nation, not about party. That said
however the President cannot on Monday ask the Hispanic voter to punish their
enemies (Republicans) and then the day after elections say they need to have a
civil discussion. The President is a hypocrite when he makes such statements.
In George Washington's final farewell address he made it very clear
that when party wins the people loose. This is happening now and the
politicians on both side had better wake up.
Fortunately with divided government, we can have limited government, because of
gridlock. As far as Republicans making limited government their actual policy,
I'll believe it when I see it. I applaud them for being the party of no. Now
let's see if they will practice what they preach.
@Moderate | 11:07 a.m.I agree that making REPEALING the so called
Healthcare Reform bill would be a BIG mistake. I don't like what we got... but
going BACK now would be the WORST option available. Too many people have
already become dependent on this new bill. Trying to take away the PERCEVED
benefit it has been hyped to bring... would get the GOP booted PDQ and would put
MANY citizens in serious jeopardy. They need to move forward from
here... not back.@Pagan | 11:07 a.m.You keep bringing up the Patriot Act... as if it reflects only on Bush. Remember... it was opposed by true_conservatives and especially the
TeaParty. It was passed with support from progressive Republicans AND
Democrats. Do you realise that 145 DEMOCRATS voted FOR it???
Indluding Harry Reid, Barak Obama, and Nancy Pelosi!!! And only 62 Democrats
opposed it?Google "Senate vote roll call on Patriot Act"... to
educate yourself... if you doubt my facts.AND... the Patriot_Act was
EXTENDED by your hero Obama... so how bad can it actually be???You may have to drop the Patriot_Act as your flag_ship vilification of Bush.
Obama voted for it as_a_Sentaor... and extended_it_as_President.
regarding Obama's clueless press conference today... Obama will
NEVER get it. The GOP sweeps the election and Obama interprets that to mean the
American people are frustrated with the pace of the Obama agenda and want it to
go faster. HA !! What land does this man live in??? Wonderland?? Holy cow - come
on Barack. Why would the America people get rid of all the democrats and replace
them with republicans if they wanted Baracks's agenda to go faster??? I hoped
that this man actually might have a clue but this proves he is clue-LESS!!! The
only answer is to just get rid of the man in 2012. Obama is lost in his own
narcissistic world and there is obviously no escape for the man. Common sense is
Pagan:Time to stop beating a dead horse. You begged the mindless
masses to give President Obama and his Democratic Congress a chance. We did.
Two years of their leadership brought (my turn to beat a dead horse): a spending
frenzy; alienated allies; incompetent handling of gulf oil spill; inaction
regarding illegal aliens (except to sue Arizona for actually trying to enforce
its law); a tsunami of "Big Brother" legislation; and coddling of our nation's
enemies (terrorists and the nations in which they operate). Now it's
your turn. Republicans have hopefully learned from the Democrat's mistakes as
well as their own stupidity. I'm willing to give them 2 years to make good on
the promise to reduce government size and spending. It will probably be too
little too late, but it is worth a try.
Now, maybe, the President can become the president of no. Hopefully the
GOP rolls back the ugly spending bills that have been passed. The ones that
were never read before passage. If they don't roll them back then they will be
out of office in a couple of years.
'You keep bringing up the Patriot Act... as if it reflects only on Bush.' -
Question | 1:10 p.m. Question, You keep trying to
distance Republicans with Bush W. Did he suddenly go Democrat and nobody told
me? How about the Afgahnistan war? WMDS? Keep trying.
Bush was President, Bush signed the Pariot Act in 2001, AND we never found any
weapons of Mass Destruction for not just one, but two wars Obama is cleaning
up. After reviewing the actions from before, why should I think
things will change with that party now? You mention 145 Dems
voted FOR the Patriot Act. Good. Well done. 211
Republicans also voted for the Act, to search you records without warrent.
(Patriot Act) Good luck in trying to distance Republican
actions from Republicans. W. Bush will release his new
book: 'Decision Points' in the UK in 11/09/10. 'Random House to
release George Bush memoir in UK' - By Alison Flood - UK guardian - Article
And heres our old buddy Pagan once again with his one sided liberal drivel.
psst...hey Pagan, GWB isnt the President anymore...you need to deal with the
fact that Obama is now the worst President that has ever sat in the Oval Office.
Dear 'Moderate'--You got it!
Great. Here is my wishlist. Repeal the Bush Tax Cuts. They will add one
trillion to the deficit over the next ten years. Republicans are great at
cutting taxes, but not spending. End subsidies to farmers and let the market
(which the Republicans love, right?) manage the market. Get us all the way out
of Iraq. One trillion later and, I'm sorry, why did we go there? To secure the
Nukes that Bush and Rumsfeld assured us were there. Stop paying mercenaries
$300K per soldier per year to work in Afganistan. Let's start the draft up.
Come on, guys, Man Up. Do the right thing for the country not just for
Monsanto, Wall Street and General Dynamics
When have republicans ever made government smaller?
Oh, hahaha -- laugh, laugh, laughLOLROTFLRepublicans?....promising limited Government?Bah-hahaha!!!That's rich!!!Let's see....Spying on
Citizens,Starting 2 Wars in the Middle East,Siding with Wall Street,
Bankers and mega-huge Corporations against "We the people",always putting
Profits before people, and MY all-time button pusher...Allowing
Corporations to pay for political interests and campaigning. So
please tell me, Tea Partiers [aka, Republicans]when has a Republican EVER
fought against their pet policies???Abortion?Government
Growth?Government Spending?Name me ONE example.....I'll
Republicans should remember 2008. If they "forget" again what they stand for,
they will suffer in 2 years. They left those who voted for them. Remember,
Jobs, NO PORK, smaller government, sanctity of life, unless your memory has has
improved, you will be defeated in 2012. You were not elected because you were
smart, it was because of what conservative principles you "said" you believe. I
still believe the issues listed above are my issues and apparently, the issues
of many conservatives. Nuff said.
The House needs to hold Obama accountable for his illegal, unconstitutional
actions the past two years. Obama is not going to budge on anything he has done
so far, which means he'll veto anything congress tries to repeal.
"Smaller government" has this pleasant ring to it (it must or it wouldn't have
been claimed by the GOP for lo these long decades), but just WHAT does the GOP
and their TP brothers want to make smaller?IRS employees who collect far
more than they cost?Mine inspections? The number of books,
microscopes and computers in schools? The pursuit of Wall Street
corruption?Armor for soldiers in danger of getting their trucks blown
up?Treatment for the soldiers who didn't HAVE enough armor?Medical
care for children that saves much greater costs later in life?Border
security? Airport security? Seaport security?I'm waiting, and expect to
20 responses and no one seems to get it! Biblical prophecy (Dan. 2,ie., 2 feet,
10 toes) clearly states a revived Rome will come to power for a short time
before it is destroyed by Christ's 2nd Coming. The secret combination building
this 'New World Order' for generations now are the 7 globalist orgs.
(Bilderbergs, Tri-Laterals, CFR,Illuminati, New Age, United Nations, Club
Of Rome). They are in bed with BOTH PARTIES and election results do not deter
them! The same agenda will go forward with a republican twist! Wake up people!
Christ's return is the only redemption the good people have to look forward to!
Republicans "Top goal, & #1 priority is limiting Obama to one term"Top
Republican leader Sen. Mitch McConnell regarding the GOP wins in the House.Do you see it?This was a total power grab....and you poor
ignorant Tea Partiers were used and duped again by the GOP.It had
NOTHING to do with: Smaller Government,Less Taxes, wasteful spending, adhereance to the U.S. Constitution, more Jobs,
spurring the Ecomony, reducing the deficit, etc., etc.,
etc....All was all about POWER!!!Thanks for
ruining America. You cow-tow to your own sworn enemy.[Reminds
me of watching a dog lapping up it's own vomit.]
