Uh, I distinctly recall these same players saying during the preseason "we are
ready to play for real" "we think we are in good shape..." yada yada yada. They ought to play some freakin defense at least. They run out and jack
up a bunch of jumpshots then do not even run back on defense. Take a
look at how many points we are giving up. These guys effort has been nothing
but gutless. They are already going to start the season 3-0.When we get to playoff seeding at season end and we miss home court advantage
by a game or two...I seriously wonder when these players are going to learn to
get themselves mentally prepared to do the tough things to win games. The coach can't make them. All he can do is teach them and we have all seen
for many years the system works and works well when the players do what they are
told....and play some defense.Ya, some defense would be real nice
considering we are giving point totals like we are the Golden State Warriors.Pathetic.Who is our team captain/leader anyways? Its on you Deron.
I think they have horrible spacing and Jefferson does not know how to run the
pick and roll with the Jazz. CJ and AK47 cannot hit the broadside of the barn,
if Hornacek is helping these two he should be fired...I really had hope for this
season more than any of the last 5 years. I hope they turn it around and I wish
Sloan would call a time out before the game is lost. Sure he is an HOF, but I
would never have voted for him.
The Jazz players just need to relax. They're playing timid and are getting
frustrated to easily. Their expectations may have started out too high. Just
relax. The truth is they just need to get into the playoffs and peak at the
right time. They're going to have to get through the Lakers at some point,
which is no small task. It's a long season so they need to stop freaking out so
Neither of the teams that beat them needed the kind of work this team
needs...they came ready to play. There is something really wrong here. AS pro's
they need to face up to the fact that they put our 100%,100% of the time,
that is what better and best teams do. Look at LA, they never go to sleep on the
court, NEVER. Our guys need a swift kick you know where, and if during game time
there is a lapse it might just be the coaches fault if he lapses too. A time out
and a correction is demanded when called for...Hear this Coach Sloan. we expect
more from a hall of famer.
CJ has taken like 8 shots in two games. I don't think his shooting in the
problem. His averaging 14 minutes a game is the problem.
I don't care about wins and losses as much as I just want to see them compete.
Against the Suns they competed after the first quarter but by then it was too
late, and that Suns team took the Lakers to the wire. The Jazz obviously need to
find the spirit and desire they need, the other stuff will come with time. Just
gotta be patient.
the fire power off the bench CJ is supposed to bring hasn't been there because
he gets 2 fouls in like 2 minutes. Can't do that and stay in the game. AK was
never a shooter and needs to just play his game.
I love how the Jazz lose two games and people are already turning on Coach
Sloan. Pathetic. Every other team in the NBA not named Lakers or Spurs would
kill to have him as their head coach. Look at the GM survey. Jerry Sloan and
his staff are very highly regarded among their peers for good reason. He is a
great coach. As for this article, I was glad to see that D-Will had
smoothed things over with Hayward. That is leadership. I was also impressed
with how Hayward handled the awkward situation when asked about it in front of
reporters and TV cameras. The Jazz will be fine. Give them 25 games
and things are going to start looking a lot better. Throw Okur into the mix by
January and the Jazz are going to start looking a whole heck of a lot better.
The Jazz will reach the 50 win mark this year, and if they are able to hold
things together and the NBA doesn't lock out the players, then the Jazz will win
55+ games next year.
I wonder how long into the season it will be when the Boozer Bashers realize
they were wrong?
Miles problems has been getting into foul trouble, but the reason he is getting
into foul trouble is he has been coming out lazy and nonchalant. CJ has to come
out with intensity and toughness and move his feet, keep good defensive
position. That takes effort and determination. So far he hasn't been into the
game mentally on defense and ends up reaching and committing fouls. I'd
love to see Fes and Evans get more minutes.
@dan....certainly won't be until can actually play....
@ Captian L: This is off the subject but you seem to have more knowledge than
most posters. I was on realgm trade checker and saw where the Jazz had a Mario Austin that was their property. He was a second rounder for the Bulls in
2003.Played in Europe and had some medical problems. Was he part of the Boozer
deal last summer??
It also looks like Evans is signed for two years. If that is the case then he is
guarenteed for this year. Is his second year a team option??
Please, please C.J. and media stop with the romance regarding this players
quotes and analysts. Just "walk the walk" C.J. you have run your mouth enough
since you've been here about what if's, should do's etc, and after 5 years of
baby sitting nothing has changed. Either man up or find another occupation.
Re LKA : I appreciate your comments, I'm just an old fart that loves basketball,
loves to analyse it and the players. I played alot, coached some, had 2 boys who
played college ball. It is fun to exchange idea and opinions with other fans.
I haven't heard anything about Mario Austin being part of the Boozer deal
with Chicago.I hope your right that the Jazz have signed Evans for 2 yrs,
I would like to have seen it be for longer but they should have his rights as a
restricted free agent at the end of the 2 yrs so hopefully he will develop and
they can keep him around for several more years.I would have like to see
the Jazz sign Fes for several years but his history of being a head case may
have caused them to take a wait and see approach. It could cause them to lose
