You are missed Matt. You are a total class act,and were a fierce competitor.
Best of luck with your broadcasting. I hope it's for the Jazz. You would make a
better replacement for Hot Rod than Locke.
Too late.... my hopes have been up since last season!!! Matt on the color was
AWESOME!!!!!!! I would love it if he stayed in Utah ...but I will listen to him
wherever he is!!! His passion and love for the game is so obvious and he brings
a whole new perspective to the game with his knowledge!! Best of luck in all you
do Matt!!! You will always be the toughest player I have ever seen!!
Matt should be signed by the Jazz and replace Boone. Boone is terrible and needs
grammar lessons very badly. Matt would be a welcome addition.
Pleeeeeze, Matt, Pleeeeeeze! Make it the Jazz in ANY capacity! Whatever it may
be, best wishes to you for success. What a wonderful role model, not only for
your own children, but for any youngster you come in contact with! Thanks for
your hard work here in Utah with the Jazz. You were and are respected and
Yes, Harpring's class and toughness are sorely missed. He will forever be one of
my favorite members of the Jazz! Good luck Matt!
Matt's play reminded me of the good old days when players gave their all because
of their love for the game and not their love of the $$$. I wish also he would
replace Locke, I like David but I have such trouble understanding him when I
listen on my computer. Good luck Matt, wherever you end up!!
Isn't Matt's WP48 too low. I wonder what "Bugoff" would say!!Matt
you're the man!
A couple of thoughts:First of all, Matt Harpring is the man. I
really hope they retire his jersey, but he just didn't do enough Im afraid. The
guy is a stud. I always appreciated his toughness. Second, I don't
know that Harpring could replace Locke, I think hed rather have a color
commentary job, rather than play by play. Locke needs to be replaced in the
worst way, but harpring should be color commentary.
I think Matt should replace Boler whatever his name is.. That guy is just
wayyyyy to onesided, I believe he is the reason I cannot stand the spazz.. Fire
I ate dinner with a former NBA player with local ties about 4 years ago and I
asked him the question: "Are any NBA players good husbands?"He said,
"Maybe only a handful, but Matt Harpring was a teammate of mine and he
definately was a good husband and father".Enough said.......
I want Matt in the booth. His commentary and analyst skills are great!
It's nice when talent, hard work and heart come together and make for a
wonderful career. I loved watching this guy play the game the right way and I
now love hearing his take on things. Matt simply has a great talent for talking
about the finer points of the game and making it interesting and fun for the
viewer. The three person commentary team of the Jazz--two of whom I loved as
players--are very very savvy basketball guys, but they don't have Matts' talent
for making it interesting for the fan. Also, their banter is very weak. It
sounds doubtful that we'll get him as a color commentator, but he's a good one.
I think Matt brings a lot to a broadcast. I hope he can do a Jazz game or two
when he's in town.
When the Jazz finally realize Locke's high pitched squeaky voice is not a
basketball voice, hopefully it will not be too late. Harpring, anyone, would be
better. I refused to listen to jazz games last year and likely will
continue to do so. Locke's punk personality over the years was excruciating to
listen to on his radio show, why KFAN gave him such a pass for constant factual
mistakes on early jazz history and allowed him to stumble in arrogance over the
airwaves all of those years while trying to learn the ropes is mind-boggling. In
the meantime through OJT he developed a passing knowledge of the Jazz from the
90's era on; still not acceptable in my book.
Matt, enjoy your new job. Booner, you're ok too. I like to see former Jazz
players do well in the post-player years. Both of these guys have presented
themselves well, in my opinion.
Matt and Booner would be great together.
I miss Harpring so much!
I like Harpring too but maybe Bugoff can run his wp48 score before we decide if
he really is missed.
Bugoff who???? Who is Bugoff?
@ JesseThat was hilarious. Now i know i'm not the only one that couldn't
care less about the wp48 score.
love harpring's straight-talk color commentary, wherever it may land! locke is
play-by-play; harpring is color. two separate animals. fyi: many of
us would take locke's voice and broadcast style over hot rod ANY game of the
week!now... what can the jazz do about getting rid of lifeless
boller, and his football/volleyball references? fresh talent, with b-ball cred,
