Sheesh. First 25000. Now 5,800. You really believe this garbage?
Would you have been happier seeing 5800 more Utahns out of work, had nothing
Here's the laugher: "While we recognize there will be long-term costs to the
taxpayers for the ARRA program, there certainly have been short-term benefits."
That's like saying that although the poison you took will eventually kill you,
it makes you feel good in the short run.
The problem with the numbers is the dishonesty of the State government report to
the feds. They were the ones who were responsible for reporting how that
federal government check was spent in Utah and if they say a job was created for
someone to sign a paper then that number is counted. The state government is
just as corrupt as the feds.I am one of those who maintained his job
because of ARRA funds. I wonder just how many people maintained jobs that would
have been lost had the feds not stepped in. I am not looking forward to a year
from now when the ARRA funds leave education and heavy cuts have to be made.
Most people thought the cuts already were significant. They were but a haircut.
In January the State is going to raise taxes and cut education severely.
The problem is in how the state reported the number to the feds. The state
inflated numbers counting jobs to fill out forms, sign checks and other paper
pushing things. These were pre-existing jobs.I am grateful my job
was saved through ARRA.
In other words, the long term benefit is more taxes to keep these low income
jobs. This is not a benefit, its deceitful misrepresentation and corruption. These funds should be used for private industry jobs and one time costs,
not permanent government waste and an excuse to raise taxes. Please, also report
what jobs were saved outside of government employees? There is clear
and present fraud in the DWS, why don't these government officials do something
to free up the billions of dollars the DWS is spending fraudulently?
What a load of manure! The fact that our state has a stimulus czar is both
ridiculous and alarming.
Obama gave the South Koreans 154 million to create 300 jobs in Michigan, that's
about 500k per job. Whatever jobs were "saved" in Utah probably cost about the
same. Who do you suppose is going to pay for all this "saving of jobs"? A job
created or "saved" is of no value or little value when we pay this kind of money
for each of them. This is what we all get for drinking the Obama kool aid two
years ago. When Obama loses his job we will all be able to get a job
again,until then, forget it.
Why don't any of you haters answer my question? Would you have preferred
nothing be done and those 5800 jobs not have been saved? Resulting in more
unemployment benefits paid out? Resulting in more home foreclosures?Just admit it. This administration can do NO RIGHT in your eyes. It's
RE: ChristyPROVE, first, that 5800 jobs were actually
saved.Talk is cheap.
Take a breath and stop calling people names, Christy. Schoolyard pettiness does
nothing to add to constructive dialogue. While the federal "stimulus" did help
save some jobs, at least for the short term, you, I and everyone else will pay
for it with tax increases and/or cuts in other programs. It's an old chestnut
but "there is no free lunch." Especially where the government is concerned.
