Where is the accounting of these so called jobs? The article is as vague as the
Whitehouse in reporting. You can do better than that. Let's hear
where the jobs are in UTAH and what they are, and just WHO was employed. Not who
got raises, or bonuses, etc. That is not the same thing, by the way. Facts and figures speak louder than words, and talk and words are CHEAP! Where
are the figures? So me the paper.
'Facts and figures speak louder than words, and talk and words are CHEAP! Where
are the figures? So me the paper.' - 2:44 p.m. Ethel, maybe you need
to look. Go to the white house website to find this information. I
even did it through google. Just search: 'Stimulus for Utah' and it pulls it up.
Here is an example: 'Economic Stimulus Will Accelerate
Cleanup of Uranium Mill Tailings in Moab, Create 150 Additional Jobs. "The
federal government will provide $108 million from the economic stimulus package
to push ahead more quickly with the cleanup of uranium mill tailings from Moab,
Utah.' That has the accounting of these so-called jobs. Since
you seem to have a hard time believing these numbers and figures I will guess
you won't believe what I've just put down. Facts and figures are words.
The ones you ask for just as you call them cheap. You reluctance to accept
information shows any any real motivation. Good day.
Well that comes to $96,000 per job. That's more than twice the national median
income. What are these jobs again? I don't think any of them were in the
aerospace industry. They must all be Assistant Deputy Undersecretary of
Ambiguity for the US Department of Redundancy Department.
I remember when I made $three dollars an hour.Of course that was about 45
years ago..Make a way over that now When I was working fulltime. But only working partime as of now.Theres really no Jobs to Secure
anyone as much so many of us are having hardships times.Me and my husband
are ready to Retire soon.Weve been fortunate Happy for what we have as of
ps..this is insane for ones looking for a work at all.Very sad whats going to
happen later on when its time to retire at all.Or for our children or
there own family!
Oh that famous phrase "created or saved". Heavy on the "saved" part would be my
guess. That why it is impossible to disprove.More government
deception as usual.Mid 2009 they came out with a similar
statistic....then either ABC or CBS news did an investigation and it was
determined that most of the data was simply "made up". Not hard to believe
because most of the stimulus money, by design, was funnelled to administration
supporters so they naturally make up any propaganda they can to support.Anyways upon further investigation it was proven the many jobs that were
"saved" were actually never in danger to begin with. Others that were "created"
would have been hired with or without the money so a bunch of it was used to
give people large raises and bonuses instead of actually hiring "new" jobs. Now you know why I picked the screen name I did.Our
government is becoming more like old Russia, current China or Cuba, and close to
Chavez down south.Scary.These people have to go.Vote them out...all of them regardless of party. Clean all the old
corruption out and start over.
re: Comsen1$96000/job is improvement. Last year it was over
$154000/job.Lets see $154000 to create a temporary $56000/year job.
Hmmmmm.Ya sounds like good Democrat math to me.
The stimulus is worthless. all it does is create TEMPORARY jobs,
at best. When the "project" is done all those people are
unemployed again.rather than fix the economy,it is just
medicine to HIDE the very real pain.
$96,000 per job, I bet the actual job paid less than ~$46/ hour. The overhead
to administer these programs is ~ half the cost. It would be cheaper to provide
incentives to business to create new jobs not had out our money.
"'Economic Stimulus Will Accelerate Cleanup of Uranium Mill Tailings in Moab,
Create 150 Additional Jobs. "The federal government will provide $108 million
from the economic stimulus package to push ahead more quickly with the cleanup
of uranium mill tailings from Moab, Utah.'"That's $720,000 per job.
Sign me up!Oh, and it isn't a JOB, it is a PROJECT. Once the
project is over, the jobs are gone. Cut taxes for businesses and business
owners and they will create jobs that will be sustained for years and years.
Utah Republicans just can't accept or believe that maybe the Stimulus money is
actualy working. Whether it saved, hired people either full time or temporary,
people are able to work, earn money and provide for their families. That is
what it is suppose to do! Too bad President Bush didn't do somethng to help the
unemployed instead of going to the summer Olympics. Has the party of "No"
presented anything to help the country out of the worse recession in over 70
Temporarily saving 25,000 government jobs doesn't really mean a thing. Wait
until next year when there isn't any stimulus money. These 25,000 government
employees will be knocking on the door for unemployment. It's deceiving to think
the stimulus created jobs when all it did was go in to the state budget to
maintain government. For the other few hundred underpaid jobs that
did come are on welfare too so you can't really call them a job or growth. The federal unemployment funds are not job substitutes and don't pay
enough for a family to live on so that argument is pure stupidity. It's what
happens when unemployment runs out that matters and there are still no jobs in
Utah that pay poverty level wages. College students and schools are making more
money from taxes than any jobs coming to Utah.Government spending
and stimulus are temporary and so is Utah's economy. This deception of stimulus
is unbelievable and very distorted.
the conclusion was made by a highly partisan and therefore thoroughly unreliable
source. I trust the president of Iran as much as the white house
I'm sure Utah would have been better off not accepting evil stimulus.Everything from the Feds is evil, dirty, and sinful.More Socialism.Hypocrites!I'm so sad.
