Larry may have had a word or two ... or three to Jazz players but I'll bet it
would have been pre-game to the $16,000,000 AK and the $12,000,000 Boozer whose
ears would have been ringing. It sure helps me appreciate Karl and
John even more. I will give Boozer credit for having a terrific
year. Perhaps it's unfair to lump him in with AK. Sorry Boozer. AK, you're
soft, both physically and mentally. Please don't cry in this years playoffs (if
you even play).
It is sad that players allow themselves to play that way when they are honoring
the man that made it all possible in that enviroment. I can only imagine how
ticked he would have been. I can only imagine the sickness that someone might
be feeling because of the lack there of from some of his players. It is kind of
funny they put his jeresy in between two guys that would have played had they
been in a back brace or a walking boot only two hours earlier.
So they traded Brewer to retire Larry's number??? j/k@Expert-
clever name, did you pick it yourself?Did you watch FSN last night?
They talked about how Larry hated to lose, but he never asked the Jazz to win
for him. He only asked them to give it their all.The Jazz just got
their butts kicked, I think the players were trying their hardest (with
exception to maybe Korver, I hate to say it but I think he was guarding his
record and was hesitant in shooting.) I'm not one to judge an athlete for not
playing through an injury (Observation-ist makes some good points about Booze
and AK...) but I think everyone gave it their all, the Suns just kicked their
butts. The Jazz were missing 2 of their 3 best players and the Suns are really
Let's be honest Rock, Greg with his fine hair cut and sports jumpsuit looked
like this marshmallow was ready for a Richard Simmons work out. The team has
not invested in athletes or guys willing to compete...When your big money
man, Kirilenko, sits there moping around, disinterested...Boozer in his finest
suit, will and should diminish his chances to land a big contract anywhere
else.I think I agree, that the Jazz even during the Malone-Stockton years,
will break your heart everytime, if you invest in following them.I still
think Sloan has some culpability...'Who memotivate players for the biggest
game of the year?'Now why should I do that?'
Stockton and Malone would not have lost this game because you would have had to
cut off a leg for one of them to miss a game this important. That's
why Stockton and Malone are in the NBA Hall of Fame, and why Boozer and AK never
will be.Karl and John may not have won an NBA championship, but they
always gave 100%.
To my knowledge Larry was never ejected from a game, but if he had lived I think
he would have been tossed from this one. I just can't imagine him
sitting still for the officiating. Make no mistake, the Suns deserved the win,
but I saw some horrible calls. It really affected the inside game. For example it's a block if you knock the ball out of bounds when a player
attempts a shot. It's not a block if you knock the player out of bounds with
the ball still in his hands. These subtle differences of interpretation seemed
to escape last nights officials. On another occasion a defensive
player was hanging on the rim during a shot. That is usually a goal tending call
if the ball even comes close to the rim. As a minimum it would be a technical
with the offensive getting a free throw and the ball out of bounds with a
minimum of 14 seconds on the clock. These guys clearly had no idea
what to do and made a bogus blocking call on Phoenix. These guys
tend to spend the playoffs reviewing the rules.
Henry..... do not put this game on the refs. Put it on Loozer and Ak. they let
us all down.
Yeah Henry, how many points are we talking? 4 or 5 we lost for way more than
that, they really kicked our butt because our crystal and more payed players
weren't playing the most important game of the season.
I expected the Jazz to come out with fire in their eyes; instead ... it was like
they didn't care.An embarrassing loss on the night the Jazz honored
the man who kept the team in Utah.
