Hard Reality.1. Sloan's defensive philosophy is obsolete. The
coaches/players knew PHO would shoot 3s. They left them open. The philosophy of
hoping a team designed to shoot 3s will not make them has to change. 2. Boozer needs to move on. He is good in the regular season but not against
tall line ups. Millsap is not the answer either. It is better to have someone
who scores 3 points less per game but who plays D and is not injury prone.3. The Sloan system makes the Jazz too dependent on the PG and PF
positions. If one or both play bad, get disrupted or hurt the Jazz YO YO. There
has to be more balance and more production from the SG. There has to be more
consistent shooting from the outside. The problem is Sloan and his philosophies
again which are out dated.4. Gentry developed his bench and played
his young bigs all year. They are ready. Sloan did not he worried to much about
Vet egos and stats. 5. Sloan is not a play off coach. This team is
designed for the regular season. It is designed for the flawed Sloan system.
Just when you had the entire state excited about the playoffs Boozer shows up to
the biggest game of the year in a suit. I want to watch a Jazz team that shows
me they want to play and that they actually care. I'll skip the playoffs this
Well, I guess the Jazz wanted an early summer. Too bad, if they won this game
they would have gone to the conference finals. I'm not seeing much success over
Just like I called it a few days ago 53 wins and a 4th or
5th seed depending on how tie breakers worked out since it
turns out to be a 5th seed, and since they do NOT havbe homecourt
advantage over the beat in regular season we call the playoffs as probable
the jazz will lose in the first round.thus again proving my other
words, the jazz have NOT improved over 4 years now. Will
NOT win a championship with this team and this coach.I have seem the
same things happen in the 80s' and 90s' and now the 00s'and
same excuses and wishful thinking from the management and media and fans,
real change is needed.Let's just hope they don't blow
the draft as usual, and do nothing to improve the team.
I really hoped we'd get the two or three seed. But it is what it is. I hope
Jerry Sloan learns hoe important it is to develop his young players through out
the year instead of waiting till the final most important game of the regular
season. And I realy hope we can play well against Denver. Though I can't see
us getting past the second round since we can't seem to beat the lakersor the
Horrible help Defense on 3's, Sloan should have tried man to man D! Is there any doubt Malone, Stock or even D Will would have played given
Boozer's or even AK's injuries? Take some advil, get some magic spray and buck
up in THE MOST IMPORTANT REGULAR SEASON GAME IN JAZZ HISTORY! I guess Booze
figures this is not his team/gone next year, so why push himself!I
would like to think there is still hope for a first round victory, but without
home court advantage, that appears tough! 1 lousy game away from playing
Portland (with home court) instead of Denver and NO Lakers until the finals; how
sad to see that effort and No Booze/AK for a game with such importance!
I called all of it....Boozer and Kirilenko can leave on a boat and send them to
SS MinnowSLoan makes no adjustments. He will not guard "3s". I do
not care if Blauch and Doug and all of society come here and "defend Sloan".
Mark Jackson commented everyone in the Jazz Camp should take "a look in the
mirror" and "no Adjustments" (Meaning 10 3s in 3 quarters) Phoenix who you "all
said" played no defense controlled the game with 10 blocks, and Jazz committed
19 turnovers. Ironic that even Jared Collins did a good job patrolling the
paint-all of this is so Ironic...When they lose to Denver, this ship
"needs to cast away". Anyone almost makes the playoffs in this league. What do
you do when you get there? I guess when Adrian Dantley who has struggled
(another ex Jazz Man) outcoaches Sloan, Maybe the state will ask like me "Jer
please move on and go"You all know I am right...Lastly,
did you notice the bench. At least Boozer cheered for his teammates. "Your AK
47 16 million dollars worth" acted disinterested the whole night. The
2 headaches can leave and free up money
Avery is a call away
Both AK and Boozer were out, and Okur playing hurt, the game was ugly to see.
Too many outside shots. But then, just take one game at a time, we can beat
Denver. Go Jazz.
I would like to thank the Jazz players for wasting my time and money tonight.
You guys are a joke. I can deal with a losing, if you try. Sitting in the
stands I saw no effort. To Bugoff, you could have the greatest schemes ever,
but if the players don't execute (read in this case just hustle) it doesn't
matter. The Jazz were slow, passive and played soft as warm butter on a day
when they had everything to play for.Dwilll has "no guts no glory"
on his arms, well that's true the Jazz showed no guts today, and will have the
glory of a quick exit from the playoffs.
Please don't make me watch another year of Miles and Price....one turnover after
another...one bad shot after another. Miles has sucked up enough money, cut our
losses and get rid of him. Worthless.
I think the Jazz have a really good chance against the Nuggets, it's pretty
even, if BOOZ and Pop-Gun comeback. If not, keep your fingers crossed Jazz
faithful.Does this become another "won and done" season for the Utah
Jazz, Western Conference Finals I say.
Hey, thats what happens when you don't put time into your reserves. You lose 20
and 10 like he says, but get no numbers from his replacements (Kosta and
Fez)because no investment, no time and effort was put into them on game
days..Just like it was always going to be, the Jazz will be bundled
out nice and early, with the same old problems as usual..coach Sloan being the
With Stockton and Malone the Sloan system could not produce a contender without
sufficient outside shooting, very good defense and a deep bench. This team has none of those elements. I live in a major market
city. Other teams are afraid to acquire Boozer. 1. He is injury prone2. DWill/Sloan make his stats look better than reality.3. They fear he
will not play hard with a new contract. Memo matches well some night
and poorly others. Sloan has not designed enough consistent outside
shooting into the SF and SG positions. The defense has trouble with
3 point teams by Sloan design. Jazz management has tinkered with
fixing the above problems. Now they need to get serious. If you
insist on Sloan then put enough shooting into the perimeter. Get a taller PF.
Get a traditional C. Guard the 3s.Design a playoff team, not a
regular season team. Sloan is not a playoff coach. He got out coached by
Gentry. The mind set has to change in Jazz management. Stop planning
for the regular season. Plan on beating LA/DEN/PHO and design for it. Force
Sloan to make changes.Losing is not entertaining.
The Jazz went on vacation early. Pathetic play, no savvy, heart, or sense of
urgency. Korver won't shoot protecting his field goal%. Miles still a boy
playing in a men's league. D-Will not as good as he thinks he is. This team
needs to be dismantled starting from the top. Hand C.J., Boozer and A.K. their
walking papers and get some players who want to perform! Wake up Greg before
it's too late.
Utah sports just keep breaking my heart, why don't I learn and just stop
Bugoff is right. What I'd really like to say would never get posted
due to the vulgarity content. This team is a joke. We've stood still
with Sloan for 22 years while (especially this season in the west) other teams
have moved on.All I hear from Greggy boy is how much the team costs.
What a crybaby. If you won't manage it to win why do you have it? Overnight,
this team is no longer "fun and competitive".This team needs to
either be blown up or sold.
The Jazz were outmatched and injured, but let's face it. With so much on the
line, we should have at least been competitive. One single game took us from
the Western conference finals into a first round exit. We're not beating the
Thuggets, and we're sure as heck not even going to compete with LA if we somehow
make it that far. Amazing how one game could blow a really good chance to go
far in the playoffs. Really hard to see us competing when we're on the road.
It was a lot more positive around here yesterday, looks like the worst case
scenario happened. This is a game Booz should've played. He needed
to still show everyone something. What did he have to play for? His future
contract, the fans, maybe his teamates respect? I'm sure the last one of those
reasons is totally gone now. I have to think that at least AK's injury is legit,
even Sloan said he just didn't look ready. Todd, I don't know why you'd be
surprised that Booz was into the game, he always is. He has perfected the art of
looking like he's into the game. All that talking and yelling is all for show,
makes you look like you're playing harder. One positive I see
happening now is Booz having a monster series against the Nuggets. I bet he puts
up around 25 and 15 for the series. Obviously playing for his next contract, I
just hope it's not from the Jazz.
the sky is falling the sky is falling..Todd is jumping in
front of buses and throwing Sloan under the same vehicle.Jazz lost
with the two highest paid players sitting on the bench. Take away Amare and
Nash and see where the Suns end up.Many comments condeming Sloan yet
it is not his fault Boozer scored as many points as Korver and guarded better on
the bench. Sloan is not at fault that Matthews could not hit for half the
game.Sloan may be at fault for keeping Price, but not because Deron
can't hit a 3 in a meaningful game.Millsap needed some testosterone
prior to the game and again at half. He maybe left what he had to offer in
Golden State, he did not show up for the Phoenix game.Trashing
Boozer about injuries is not helpful. AK makes more and is hurt more often and
is less useful so what good does it do to trash Boozer? It is obvious to me he
has carried the team on his shoulders this season, played more games than Deron
and has proved himself.that is more than the fair weather fans who
When will the EnergySolutions crowd give up on chanting "M-V-P" to Deron
Williams? Deron is a great player - even an All-Star most years - but he is
nowhere near an MVP.We needed Williams to have a big night, but
instead he went 5-17. Tuesday he was terrible as well. I love Deron and I'm glad
he's on our side, but it's time to give up on the MVP chants. True MVP's relish
the opportunity to step up big in games like this, but Deron basically laid an
egg. It's not the first time he's done that in big games either.Nuggets in 5.
Nothing like another early exit in the playoffs.Oh well, there's
next season, right?
Like my name, it is what everyone is on these boards isn't. It's kind of funny
how many opions there are. I bet half these blow up the ship comments were the
same ones that thought we could give the lackers a run for their money in the
western conference finals. I do however think that there are some changes that
need to be made, starting with the 29 million that was sitting on the bench for
the most important game of this season. This one game was probably more
important the the whole series that the suns will now be able to enjoy.
The bigger problem that Boozer is AK. We pay him way too much money, and he has
played in 2 of the last 18 games. Last night wouldnt have even mattered had he
played in those other games. We have lost 7 games since he has been injured. I
am sure we would have won half of those had he not been weak. For all the Booz
haters. He averages 19 and 11. We would be horrible if we didnt have him.
The only gripe I have is the lack of production from the bench. You've gotta be
ready to play. Boozer is a big reason for why the Jazz were in a position to
take a 3rd seed into the playoffs, so you all can lay down your pitchforks and
blaming injured players for losses. If I had to pick between Booz and AK
playing in the last regular season game (as big as it may be) and having them
for the playoffs, I pick the playoffs. If they'd aggravated their injuries
during this last game, things would be a lot worse. Of course, for some of you,
that would have been a reason to come out and post "Boozer doesn't want to play
in the playoffs". Like I said, no bench production last night, plus poor
shooting from our shooting guards, a tough night for Milsap, and a strong
Phoenix team. Not what I wanted, but I'm still psyched to see these guys
play with all of their roster. There's still loads of potential. Go Jazz!
Yes, it is time to send Kirilenko and Boozer out the door....How can the Jazz
keep this Russian frail scarecrow with no heart and no soul? Then youhave
Boozer, in a suit on the most important game of the year...Frankly, I am
tired of Sloan, the Millers, KOC and this team....
When you have Fesenko and Kofous on the floor at the same time during a critical
stretch of the game you know you're in deep trouble.
todd to Since NowThis is the predictable scenario:Jazz
Lose in 6 or 7 O Connor says "we love tis young squad, we still have
not seen a Full Jazz roster because of the untimely injuries by Kirilenko and
Carlos. We would have been likely #3 seed if they had been healthy, then no one
is negative. I say we keep this fine young nucleus, we will have a higher pick
on draft, we will make a move only if it makes fiscal sense and help our squad
and confident the Jazz when healthy can be fun and competitive and challenge as
a top contender. We will likely make few changes, you may see this same roster,
either way I love our future"The "sloanaholics were aroused like
Doug and Blaunch and united in support for Kev and his main man "Jer" for
another season bright ahead of 50-32 and early playoff exit. The
"sloanaholics" felt great and were more than happy with just 82 games to keep
them occupied until Bees Baseball or Gardening work could be done.
Quit all the hating on our team!! Bring on Denver baby!!
They were only slightly better than an NBA Development team last night..Why do
people continually praise Sloan?
I cannot understand why either AK or BOOZ did not play. It would have been a
huge confidence boost for the team. Even at 90% phx would have had to guard
booz, not allowing double teams all night on d-will. Play this game, win it,
the take the ENTIRE series off against Portland to heal. At home, without Roy,
it would have been easy. Then healthy, I like our chances against Dallas or San
Antonio, then on to the conf finals and who knows, maybe its not the lakers and
maybe we have home court. The Jazz franchise just went from 8 to 10 more home
games, to probably just 2. So if the Millers are so worried about the money,
they should have demanded they play so they could get the extra revenue. Both
have "promised" to be back by the playoffs. If that is so, there is NO reason
they should have been in street clothes last night. Wes Matthews takes a
pounding every game, giving 100%, and yes, makes rookie mistakes. He has
probably been kicked in the leg and punched in the gut, but he keeps playing
hard because HE WANTS TO PLAY!
Has Koufos improved at all in 2 years? I wish the Jazz would get rid of the
I haven't been hard on Booz too much all year, everyone knew to expect big
numbers as he was paying for the raise he guaranteed he'd get. I had been open
to him returning next year but to not show up in the biggest game of the year w/
a mild injury is weak to me. To say that it is more important to have him rested
for the playoffs is weak also. I'd take a Portland matchup over a matchup w/ the
Nuggets. Even if Booz is sore. With all that said, I don't know that
Booz would have been the difference last night. It just would have said more
about him. I still like our chances against the Nuggets with the way they've
been playing lately.
The world didn't end - it was just one game! Denver is a mess and Utah will see
the Lakers in round 2...and they might still be a mess too. DWill can dominate
Fisher. As a Suns fan I have to say WOHOO - I have been to about a
dozen games in SLC to watch my team, I am glad they finally held a lead.In case you didn't notice, PHX is pretty good. No shame in losing to
them without Boozer and AK. I expected more of a fight, but cmon, this was not
the biggest game of the year. Saturday's is.
koufos is 7 foot tall and was blocked over and over and over. no idea how to
score in a league where everyone else has height and more talent. Good college
player, not an NBA player.Jazz have lost all their toughness. I
cannot think of one player willing to put someone on the floor once in a while.
Ostertag was tougher than most of our current lineup. The art of OLE! is
becoming perfected in Utah
I have reaced the point of hatred for AK and Boozer. AK is the one that really
takes the cake. He is the highest paid player on the team and has no heart or
soul. Go back and play for Russia AK. Void your contract next year. You don't
care to be here. Same with you Boozer. Any "real" athlete would have played
last night. Give your heart to your team or get out. Besides Mathews and Deron,
this team has no heart or character. Everyone is trade bait. Why is Koufos
playing over fess all of a sudden? He is horrible. Milsap is not good. Blow
this thing up or you will start losing more fans then you already have.
What a bunch of hacks!!!! And that could apply to many of the COMMENTERS here
AND THE PLAYERS!!Sloan is the problem? Seriously?Okur is hobbled.Boozer is out.AK is out. Please
tell us what other team is going to beat the 2nd or 3rd hottest team in the NBA
since the allstar break with 2/3rds of its talent sitting injured on the
bench?Get serious!!Now, what I will add to that is the
fact that the remaining players (with the exception of Memo) were GUTLESS,
PATHETIC, LAZY, AND GENERALLY APATHETIC in last nights game.Sloans
system has beat the Suns before and come from 20 points down to do it so save
your flawed logic. The help defense and rotations were slow and weak.
The players stood like witnesses as the Suns jacked up threes. THE PLAYERS did
nothing to stop it. The PLAYER EFFORT for a game of this magnitude
was just unforgiveable.Back to back pathetic games from Deron after
he hardly played at Golden State.Hope everyone enjoyed a PREVIEW OF
NEXT SEASONS TEAM WITHOUT BOOZER!!! All you Millsap lovers got a good taste of
what will happen next year!!
Bring on Denver!
You know that 15 years ago, with Malone and Stockton, in this same type of
situation, would NOT be denied the chance to come out and show their stuff if
they were injured like AK and Boozer. Why can't they have enough guts to play
in the most important game of the entire season?
Korver? What a sissy...planning his shots to preserve his precious 3
point shooting season record. That guy should be fired/waived.A guy that leads the NBA in 3 point % and he can't make a single shot.
I have always said it...he is great at making shots when it does not
matter. Last night it mattered and what did he do?A BIG
DONUT!!!!!What a pretender!!If the Jazz get on the other
side of the bracket they easily get to the second round and possibly win that
series also and end up in the WCF.Now they quite possibly lose to
the Nuggets and if they magically beat them then they get embarrassed by the
Lakers.Deron? I thought you were supposed to be a leader for your
team?Possibly THE BIGGEST REGULAR SEASON GAME IN JAZZ HISTORY AND
THEIR SUPPOSED FRANCHISE PLAYER LAYS AND EGG!!! Nice legacy. They all be "GONE FISHIN'" very soon anyways. You get a
chance to see what your players are made of when it matters most and I guess now
we know what we have got!!No wonder they "turtle up" every time we
play the Lakers. MENTALLY WEAK!!
For the past 22 years, there were only 7 teams have won the championship. Bulls
(6 times), Lakers (5 times), Pistons (3 times), Rockets (2 times) San Antonio (4
times), Miami (1 times) and Boston (1 times). And in this 22 years, Jackson won
10 championship, and Popovich won 4 times, Riley won 2 times.Jazz,
at the same times, have winning reord 21 out of 22 season, 2 NBA finals
appearance, missed playoff twice. And now, people is saying Sloan is
outdated and other teams moved on? Hello, last time I checked, they only award
one championship a year. Be grateful Jazz is not like Clippers or Timberwolves,
or even Bucks and Knicks.
WHO KNEW...that Steve Nash and Dragic were such defensive stoppers? They sure put the brakes on Deron last night. What pretender Deron
was last night. He and Korver can exchange stories of valor in the
offseason. Both veterans were AWOL!!Okur surprised me the
most--injured and played anyway and ended playing better than the healthy
players. That ought to tell you something about the healthy players
effort. What bunch of lazy mental midgets these players are!!I
understand we were horrifically overmatched with 2/3rds of our starting talent
on the bench but where was the stinking effort!!
I'm afraid I have to disagree with Todd on most of his comments. His "knowledge"
of the game from coaching or reffing semi pro basketball was confined to bashing
sloan in every post. I think he secretly has a crush on him and every Jazz game
curls up on the couch with lipstick on to watch the games.2 Starters
are out, one being a monster against the suns in booz and everyone is acting
surprised. As soon as I heard on the radio that Booz and AK werent
playing I cancelled my Tivo for the game. There wasnt a chance they were gonna
win a game against a team that with a full Denver line up, dismantled them by
26. I really hope Jazzcop has been watching his boy Korver over the
last 2 weeks because he has shown why he's not a starter in this league.
Matthews at least tried to play D and attack the rim, Korver was a ghost. Now I do not agree with how Jerry has developed his bench because it
could be better, but we are still a deep team with everyone healthy.
9 guys deep with our regular starters not injured is a good bench, Not every
team can be 10 deep like phx, though Collins never plays except when lopez is
injured so I shouldnt count him. take away booz's nearly 20 and 11 or his 25.5
and 14.8 he has averaged against the suns and you can see why we needed him in
this game. Biggest game, but he didnt play and that I can somewhat understand
with the injury coming last night. With that said, I see no reason
why AK doesnt play, slower or not we're a better team when he's playing and the
guy continues to sit on the bench with an injury booz had earlier in the season
that only sidelined him a week. Shows the kind of mentality AK has, SCARED!!!
There was a lack of hustle in the second quarter and memo was doing
everything he could to keep us in the game, but he's injured and cant be
superman. The difference between Jer and Gentry is gentry has older
bigs that have at least 2 more years than our KK and FES
Hey Jazz Source? Didn't the Almighty Boozer play in the Houston loss? Yeah
that's what I thought. And he can't even try to play on what you said yourself
was a game of this magnitude, even the hobbled Okur gutted it out and he is
considered soft, so what does that make the Almighty Boozer? You have your
opinions and we have ours!!!! So get of your high horse and come back down to
reality. And on a side note, what happened to the Jazz with ALL of it's talent
at home against the Lakers without most of its talent, THEY GOT SMOKED!!!!
re: ya he did...and he played in the other 77 games as well that got us in
position to play for the 3rd seed.I'm just as ticked as the next
person Boozer got injured and did not play--it cost us an exciting post season
playoff experience.Seiously though, this guy has a history of
injuries and he is WITHOUT A CONTRACT and you seriously think he is going to sit
when he could have actually played? That is a ridiculous premise. As
far as your Laker comment--I agree Boozer is too short to compete against the
Lakers but last time I checked they are the reigning NBA champions and there are
28 other teams that have the same problem. We would not have even
sniffed the 2 or 3 seed if Boozer would not have delivered the impressive
regular season performance he did.Don't speak on others behalf
because the stats don't lie. Boozer delivered all season long and that is a
large reason we had the chance we did.Is he the horse to beat the
Lakers? No I don't believe he is but that doesnt mean he's worthless.
Do any of you think that Boozer was trying to help the Jazz by healing and not
making his injury worsefor the playoffs? What do you think of
this thought? Since in some ways, Boozer has actually stuck with it this
NGB now with doug and Blauche "the Thee AMigos"Keep it up
re: Jazz Source and The Final WordYou're right that Deron didn't
play his best game, but lets not throw him under the bus. Last nights
performance was the result of him trying to do too much, or trying to make up
for the team not having Boozers 20 points. He shot a bad %, and made a lot of
turnovers, but don't forget that he shot 14 free throws. That is what great
players do if they struggle from the field. I guarantee that he has a few
nagging injuries as well, but he suited up.Alright, that is all the
negativity I can handle. Let's move on and talk about the upcoming matchup.
ToddFirst of all I HAVE NEVER SAID THE JAZZ WERE GOOD AT DEFENDING
THE 3 POINT LINE. THEY ARE AVERAGE AT BEST. Phoenix averages over
the season 9 out of 21 3 point shots. Over the previous 10 games they are
making 10 of 23. And that is what they did against Utah 10 for 21. Todd - you just do not understand the first thing about basketball. The
reason the Jazz lost had nothing to do with Phoenix 3 point shooting or the
Jazz's Defense. The Jazz lost for the same reason they always -
They fear shooting outside. There is no reason the Jazz did not shoot 40 3
point shots yesterday. They had multiple open shots. And Miles and Okur were
the only players who were willing to shoot any of them. Phoenix
did not defend the 3 point line either. The Jazz just did not shoot them.
KORVER WAS AWFUL. Koufas is a worst player than Collins was. Yet
the Jazz Ran 4 low post plays for him and 1 for Fes for zero points. Fans who say we need to play Fes and Koufas - If they were good sloan would
great comeback Todd, I can see why you are so reverred. I disagree with many of
sloan's philosphies. I hate that Fes didnt start playing more and the start of
the season when he seemed a little more focused. I hated at the first of the
year when he wouldnt let this club shot the three ball more often. But you've
even admitted Todd that he's made some adjustments so give credit when its due.
Matthews, a rookie starting and playing big mins. They've been playing more
outside game lately and have designed 3 point plays. So unlike your
own biased, i've bashed when needed and have given praise when deserved, maybe
that's why you only made it as a semi pro coach. Learn to give praise and blame
when its due.You will never win an arguement that its Jerrys job to
motivate these guys to play and to play with heart. His job is to create a
scheme to help them execute and win. The players have to play with the desire
and focus, no matter what he did last night they didnt have enough fire power.
oh Todd and his fearsome club of naysayers, i'm seeing the validity of your past
arguements against me come to fold as well. Todd's buddy jazzcop would argue
with me all day about starting Korver since he's such a saavy vet, look at what
he's done lately in pressure situations. Todd's bashing on sloan when the
players arent coming to play is exactly what he's now saying is the problem.
Doesn't matter what sloan says in the locker room or doesnt say, if the players
dont come out to play or execute or try (in the case of AK and Booz) then it
doesnt matter how great a coach he is.Talk about worthless, Todd's
arguement, being a semi pro coach is outdated and jealousy is abudantly clear.
Blame Jerry all you want, I have in the past, but the fact is when two of the 4
best players on the team dont want to gut it out, it doesnt mean your coach is
bad, it means the organization shouldnt resign them, cuz they have no heart or
Boozer and Andre are great players but they are both made of glass, a hang nail
and they are out. Having them injured all the time is the same as not having
them. It's a tough dilemma.
I agree with you guys, they didn't show up last night, this supposed to be the
biggest game and became the biggest disapointment in franchise history. Loozer
and AK-47 sitting out? that is weak, they have no heart and they don't care
about the fans, team and teamates, they are here just for their money. I love
soccer and I remember Beckenbahuer playing for Germany in the world cup final in
1974 with a broken arm, going into overtime, that is heart and I'm sure that was
a sharper pain than loozer's. We need to rebuild the team around
DWill, we can get great pick and let loozer and Ak go have some money to go out
on the fre agent market this summer and land C-Bosh!! And I think
we can still beat Denver if we show up. Go Jazz
Toddfromsantanna, Last time I checked his name wasn't Jared Collins
it was Jarron... Get your facts straight before talking about players... And I
think we are in some serious trouble especially if BOOzer and AK don't play at
all... Specifically BOOzer!! We should just send AK packing, he has been
worthless the last part of the season...And isn't it time for Steve
Nash to retire, I can't stand hearing his name or even seeing him!!And I watch Hollingers Playoff Odds on ESPN everyday and it still has the Jazz
with the highest percentage of going to the NBA Finals out of anybody in the
West... I just wish it would be true!!
While it was extremely frustrating to watch the Jazz MELT AGAIN in an important
game, I think if Boozer and AK 47 show up, we can take care of Denver in 6
games. By the way...... The reason AK47 is called AK47 is that we A.ll K.now he
will miss at least 47 games per season.Memo, Boozer and AK are all wimpy.
They allow hang nails to keep them of the court. This is why I say they will
beat the Nuggets, then lose to whomever they play next.
I had Milsap on my fantasy team and he was VERY inconsistant. There were so many
nights where he'd have like 4-pts and 4-boards and 4-turnovers and that's it. Then one good game about once every 2 weeks.
Boozer is a MUCH more consistant player. He just happens to be hurt. (again) And an oblique strain is not going to just go away. He's going to
really feel it everytime he raises his arms. This is not a good sign for the
Jazz. I hope he can play to a high level but I would be surprised.
JazzmanThat won't be a problem for Loozer!! he never raises his arms when
he is playin D, I hope he got some pain that means at least he is raising his
arms!! And I agree Booz is more consistant if he is healthy, or should I say he
is more consistan with his injuries!!
Didn't Ron Artest drink alcohol at halftime in the locker room...? Maybe Boozer
should live up to his name while he is injured... I for one feel no pain with a
little bit of alcohol in me... Just a thought... I think we can beat Denver,
Lets just pray that OKC beats LA which they most likely could do!!
Last night was pathetic...definitely a game the fans wanted to win - but the
players didn't care. Should have been treated like a Game 7 in my opinion. As for the Denver matchup, maybe I'll boycott so I don't have to see Ty
Lawson run circles around DWill for the next 4 games. Why is it DWill makes
Lawson look like an All Star?
That was just a dumb game all around. The Jazz were horrible. The Refs were
horrible. If the reffing was fair, the Jazz might have only lost by 8 or 10!
They will need AK and/or Boozer to be able to play if they want any chance of
beating the Nuggets
about Todd from Santa Anathats the one great thing about the end of the
season...i won't have to read his crap anymore..Todd you were
YAHOOING a couple of games back forecasting a 2 or 3 seed..now you're breaking
you ankles jumping off the wagon..we don't need you breaking down the game
with who played great and who didn't...we all watch...your posts are
predictable and have become tiresome...give it a rest friend...oh and by the way.....AVERY JOHNSON????? really....WOW!!! sell me
I know Korver had a really bad game, but come on... give him a break. He did
not purposely not shoot 3s to get that dumb record. He is a good teammate and
has too much heart to do that. He was not open. Had he been open and had he
been given time to get into the rhythym of shooting he would have taken a 3 when
available. I agree it looks bad, but he wouldn't sell his team down the river
for a record!! Keep supporting Kyle!
JK you frighten me...I am shaking....I could care less what anyone thinks....I
do hate Sloan, of course. The fact is he is never blamed for one thing that
goes wrong. "it is not the players that have to self motivated and focused".
Phoenix guarded the 3 point line far better "watch the tape" oh sure a few times
they did not, the Jazz NEVER DO Then again when I called for a #2 or # 3 seed
that was EXPECTING AK AND BOOZER WOULD PLAY. Still, the Jazz rushed shots
because when they tried to go inside to Milsap he was smothered and had nowhere
to go with the ball and badly deficient in height.Still. Sloan
philosophy is why players are not in position to rotate and help, it is HIS
DESIGNWHAT IS IT YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND?I will say it
again....If someone with strength to discipline or someone with RINGS (Riley,
Jackson, Popovich, Rivers) were in charge last night, either theyr'e words and
teammates pressure KIRILENKO AND BOOZER WOULD HAVE PLAYED.Fes
getting 2 minutes is a joke. You guys just do not like me and that is cool the
What a bunch of fair weather fans, complain, complain, complain, whine, whine,
whine. Without Booz & AK the Jazz were just overmatched. If both Booz & AK can
return for the playoffs, we have a chance. Denver hasn't been playing well
lately & if the Jazz are healthy they can beat the Nuggets.Let's hope Booz
& AK can regain their health and play like they can. Go Jazz.
Forgot last year another mental breakdown losing the last game at Spurs putting
us in Laker Bracket 8th.Care less. Expecting loss to Nuggets
because we do not seem to have enough character-keep supporting Sloan, keep
supporting average. The Boston Bruins made playoffs like 20 years in a row and
they had noting to show for it. Maybe a new coach would bring his own system
could even be better more defense oriented, and different type of players.
...such as a #2 guard who may be available Like Salmons and Matthews can back
him up, A high pick to draft an athletic lengthy big man, try and get a
legitimate Small forward,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,or Paul move there, Okur to #4 and a
true centerYou will be shocked to
learn Jazz basketball will not "cease" without Sloan. Then again you can rid
us of Greg sell to the team and move them to Honda Center I am down with
that-here greg and 'Jer" accountableI am ere to "shock you"Life will not cease and neither will Jazz B BAll without Jer and "his
Sloanaholics"You all may learn other methods, you know 21st century
stuff frin ither cocd
Todd, you keep saying we need to run people off the 3 point line, but then you
complain that we dont have a true shot blocking center. Where is your logic???
sloan does prefer instead of running at the three line and letting
them penetrate, he prefers to approach to guard the penetration since we have no
big man with blocking capabilities down low, but in the zone where they started
draining threes is not the same concept. So running the three off,
made them make an extra pass to another good three point shooter and he drained
it. Rotation is too slow, not running off the three. But you would
have us run at shooters so they can pump fake and drive and go straight to our
"lack of the true center" so they can have a higher percentage shot?? where is
the logic, 40 percent shot vs 80 percent shot in a layup that is basically
uncontested with memo being slow and booz playing Ole. Great
personnel coaching Todd, knowing your players is what a semi pro coach should
know, its coaching 101 in the book for dummies. Oh well, lets let teams drive on
Are you guys serious??? Sloan is not the problem? He is the only
constant in 22 years of coming up short. The answer is staring you
in the face, you just choose to look elsewhere.
The JAZZ just looked & played tired & they only have 2 days off to get ready for
the NUGGETS. The good thing is they don't have to do anything to get
ready they just have to be ready to play and beat them in Denver atleast 1 game
to start off with.If Boozer & AK47 are not back they don't stand
much of a chance.Last night the SUNS took advantage of the refs
leting them pound on the JAZZ in the paint - but that is the way the ball
bounces or should we say gets blocked.Come on Sloan & your coaches -
kick them in the buttt. It is a long play-off - into May to start off.
@bug off-exactly, these changes would make us a better team, it doesn't seem out
of reach.@sincenow-you are probably the same person who denver pays to
post, or something, r u kidding, lastnights game was the equaivalent of a
playoff series, and we lost, you gotta find a way if injured to play.@todd-perhaps the boozer injury is a front office conspiracy, they secretly
hold boozer out so they don't have to risk looking bad by losing to phx with
boozer, instead they garuantee a loss and they secure the reason to say they
thing you quoted, that the team should stay together because they haven't been
healthy together yet.which is actually false, the team was healthy
for a short stretch, ak played amazing, but he fell off then got injured,
everyone else was playing good too, defense was focused on; but ak was playing
really his best ball in a few years, which case if that was what 16 mil gets you
fine, but this is the case of ak showing up which he sometimes does, but usually
doesn't, injury excuses or not.
I am so irritated, not that the jazz lost but how they lost. I saw absolutely no
effort in a game that meant so much. I put that on sloan. I have been saying
this for years and people still praise sloan. If he was the coach for any other
team he would have been gone a long time ago. It is the same thing every year.3
years ago the jazz got to the western finals and they were the up and coming
team, since then they have gone backwards. Again,it goes back to sloan. HE NEEDS
TO GO! It's been the same way throughout the years with different players but
the same result. The one thing that hasn't changed is the coach. WHAT DOES THAT
TELL YOU!! Why are other teams getting better while the jazz stay the same?
Instead of building a playoff team why not build a team that can win a
championship. This up coming offseason is stacked with big name free agents. Get
rid of boozer and AK and get a quality big man. Show the fans that you are at
least trying to compete for a title.
What last night showed along with the season, w/o ak and booz, the team gets
destroyed, w just ak-the jazz are an eighth seed, w just booz the jazz are a
fifth seed, w both, i think we'd be looking at a second seed, the injuries took
their toll, as far as legitimate injuries go, this is a matter that relates to
tough decisions, being the fact that the millers are probably not in a position
to operate it like the wealthier owners. thus, the philosophy of continuity,
which has become the jazz gold standard-ok, this standard is not some law and
even laws sometimes need to be broken, and because how everything relates maybe
changes need to be made, doesn't mean that those decisions are easy to make, but
not being easy is not excuse for players-as this is how sloan talks-so it is not
an excuse for managment and coaches, to always do the easy thing and making it
easy by always taking a min risk,we could've traded for s. jackson, artest,ok, players are available that the jazz are afraid of.
@ng-the reason why the jazz are going down is because they are doing the
'stupid' things that you recommend and back.
anyone who believes that the Jazz lost that game because of their defense needs
to stop watching basketball. Just stop. You don't understand the game. The Jazz shot 30 for 80 from the field. They lost because of their
offense not their defense.
