the damage has been done, it cannot be made up. like 3 days more would have
really made it nuch better.Enjoy the flight to DenverThe
Nuggets will not be satisfied themselves even though to be at home. They are in
the Laker Bracket and not thrilled likely with theyr'e position either. That will just make the Nuggets even harder to beat.It may go 7
but Denver should win...Sloan chokes again.....
So Todd. Were you coach of the year in your "semi-pro" league? Backseat coach
of the year? Legend in your own mind?CLEARLY you are JEALOUS of
Sloan. You DO know he PLAYED in the NBA? Was an All-Star? Had his
number retired by the Bulls? Where did you play?
Booz choked, not Sloan. I'll admit I would have played Fez and Koof more
myself, to get them some playing time when it was obvious we weren't winning
anyway, but Sloan did his best to win the game.I don't want Boozer
to come back. I don't want him here anymore, and I'd rather just see how the
Jazz can do without him, so they can start seeing what needs to be done to fill
the hole next year. Give Koof and Fez 24 minutes each and lose in the playoffs,
but get them some experience so we can be ready for the post Boozer era next
year.Milsap played in every game, and deserves a starting role.
Show him the respect he's earned.
i despise these two no heart players
i despise a coach who will not defend a 3 pointer, Phoenix had 1-3 players
behind the line every time down the court-that is garbage coaching. You can all
it what you want, if Avery had ordered that I would have called him out on it
also. Mark Jackson made reference during the game to no adjustments and letting
these 3s go in (10 for first 19)when they lose to Denver PROVE ME
WRONG tell me how great "Jer is" THis team played as frazzled as a grade school
team they were outhustled. The state is too nieve to hear the truth and cannot
Let's hope when they return that it's not in a suit sitting in the row behind
the players on the bench.
Giving Kouf Minutes will not make him better. He is Never going to be a good
player. I HAVE NO IDEA WHY FANS EVER CHEER FOR HIM. HE HAS LESS TALENT THAN
COLLINS. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. The Jazz weren't going to win a
championship - Most Likely Orlando will - but I would have loved to see them get
home court. Seriously The biggest weakness is the Jazz inability to
take open jump shots with Confidence. They just don't want to take them.
They were open.Sloan did not tell then not to take 3's. I mean Phoenix
only defensive play was to pack it in the paint so when Williams drive, they
triple team him. Korver, Matthews and Williams did not want to
take outside shot. There is not reason they don't take 40 to 50 3
pointers in that game. Jazz made 7 for 19 on 3 pointers - 21 points
on 19 possessionsJazz made 23 of 72 on 2 pointers attempts
(including foul shots) - 65 points on 72 possession. That does not include the
10 blocks Phoenix. Really it was 82 possession. Had the Jazz Just
taken 3 point shots they would have 112 points.
Sorry but its the Nuggets to cruise home in 5, if we get lucky and pinch one.
A sure thing is this team knows it has no hope of going anywhere
this post season. Its only a matter of time before they throw their hands up and
declare it's all a bit too hard. Hey, when the coach makes excuses, why cant
How pathetic that you sit out with a muscle strain. In the BIGGEST GAME OF THE
YEAR. Get the bum off of the team. The rest of the team gave up before the
game when LOOZER gave up on them. I will not wast one more minute on this team
untill he is gone.
I do think that there are some changes that need to be made, starting with the
29 million that was sitting on the bench for the most important game of this
season. This one game was probably more important the the whole series that the
suns will now be able to enjoy. I know many high school kids that would have
played through more pain then the both of these two. They also do it for the
only thing that we wish the other two would play for. PRIDE!
The Boozer era will end with a thud.5th instead of 2ndAn
opening round loss to the Nuggets vs a Western Conference final against the
Lakers. All because Boozer was too much of a whimp to play with a
soar tummy.Everyone knows Karl and John would have played, and
played hard.Is anyone surprised?
Boozer and Kirilenko are returning for what? Risking injury or not, the return
date was last night.Homecourt against the Blazers vs. the road
against the Nuggets. Preference choice here? Duh!Laker bracket vs.
non Laker bracket? Duh 2X.Northwest Division title vs. second place?
Triple duh as far as I am concerned. I guess division titles don't
mean anything anymore. BYU plays in bowl games like the Jazz play in
the playoffs. The end result is all to often the bummer though. Atleast BYU has
the conference championship history. If that didn't matter then the Utes have
the better history based on bowl WINS over appearences. Bottom line
is that division championships and homecourt advantage in the playoffs matters.
The Jazz are done. Boozer is done here. The latter is a good thing.
Unfortunately, this was the year for the Jazz to have a tiny window
to slip through. The roster is going to be shuffled and when DWill's contract is
up in a few years, he will be gone. Deron is a GREAT player but not worth the
big bucks in my opinion. Mark my words now. Deron's longevity won't be
I agree with SportsFan. I would like to know how many games Karl Malone played
in with bigger injuries than Boozers sore muscle. The other thought I have is
that I would think D. Will. and the other players who were (even though they had
an off game) out on the court trying to put the effort in, would be soooooo sick
and tired of LOOZER and AK and their whimpy attitude. I watched both of them on
and behind the bench last night and neither one of them were cheering on their
teammates and both of them looked bored. I am sick and tired of both of them
and the little games they play. I am also surprised that Coach Sloan isn't
totally fed up with the two joksters. Sloan comes from the old school where you
played through the pain. I wish Sloan would go off on both of them. I am so
sick of the two soft boys. Let's get rid of them.
getting rid of SLoan would be the novelest idea. I dount Boozer or Kirilenko
pulls this with Greg Popovich-anyone that does not agree I feel sorry for.
re: toddWhat planet are you from?you said: "i despise a
coach who will not defend a 3 pointer"Uh, coaches don't guard
anyone...the players are supposed to.Are you seriously trying to
tell us that Sloan tells the players NOT to guard the PHX players shooting
3's?Why did they guard them when we played them earlier this season
and beat them?If his system is so flawed how is that we are playing
for a 3 seed and only 4 games back of the reigning NBA champions in by far the
toughest conference in the league? We have all seen the players guard
better than they did last night IN SLOANS SYSTEM.Besides the obvious
fact we were outmanned with a good portion of our top talent not playing or
playing injured, THE REMAINING PLAYERS PLAYING the game made a lousy effort at
rotations and help.Lack of player talent (too much sitting on the
bench) and lack of energy/effort cost us the game.Your logic is so
bad it can't even be called logic. As far as AK's and Boozers promise
of return?Too little to late.Die is cast.
re: gdog3It's common knowledge that alot of Jazz fans are also BYU
haters (as seen from the reaction of a large part of the Jazz crowd anytime
anything related to BYU occurs in ESA), so your little departure into the
BYU-hating weeds while discussing the Jazz is no surprise.Division
championship lost most of their significance when the NBA went to 4-team
divisions. Who really cares about hanging a banner for being the best of 4
Todd, Mark Jackson is about as good a TV announcer as Matt Harpring. Neither
should be on television. I'd rather put myself thru the torture of listening to
bueller and booner than listen to him talk about his personal life while the
game is going. The Jazz didnt get out matched by 3's, they only made 10 and jazz
made 7, it was the bench. Korver didnt show again and KK who had looked pretty
solid the last few games got block 3 times. Todd, the final word got
you pretty good. Yes, I see what your saying, sloan does prefer instead of
running at the three line and letting them penetrate, he prefers to approach to
guard the penetration since we have no big man with blocking capabilities down
low, but in the zone where they started draining threes is not the same
concept.Lack of players with a desire for greatness (booz and AK)
was the real issue Todd, come on, be realistic, when you heard Booz and AK were
sitting did you really think the Jazz would win?? if you did then you're more
naive than I thought you would be
we were outmanned NGB I said it was not all SLoan. The point is "when is it
ever SLoan?"Why did not the other players have heart in this game?
We have won countless games at home in the past undermanned against Cleveland,
Boston etc. Why cannot the Jazz stay with shooters-there is not one good
reason. Lopez was not there so Phoenix is missing a key shot blocker and
defender also. If the coach prepares and set the right mood then maybe what
happened does not. Phoenix hit all 10 3s in first 3 quarters, 8 first half so
it was critical. They missed last 8 in 4th, but game was already over.
A few nights ago, ESPN rattled off the players that the Spurs have found in the
draft....The Jazz must have the worst scouting staff in the world to select
Koufos over some of the other available talent that year...The list of Jazz-KOC
draft failures is endless...
Kosta Koufos, Kirk Snyder.....while Eric Maynor was gold.
I think the Jazz will win the series if both Boozer and Kirilenko are able to
play the whole time, and if no other starters get hurt. The last game against
the Suns would have been completely different with them as well.
just get rid of both of them. Please do not bring Boozer back. Ditto for AK.
Boozer could learn a thing or two from Malone. You're paid to play! Get with
the program. Karl always play while he was injured. Considering the importance
of that game, Karl would have done anything to contribute. Boozer will never
have the heart of Malone.
These are about the lamest, whiniest comments I have ever read. Do many of you
read what you write? Do you guys realize that Boozer has a partially torn
oblique that was a confirmed by an x-ray and MRI? Do you also realize that in
order to shoot a basketball you have to raise your arms above your head? Go
tear your oblique, try shooting a basketball and then let me know how it works
out for you. I loved Karl Malone (arguably the toughest guy to ever play in the
NBA) as much as the next fan but show me one instance where he played in an NBA
game 24 hours after tearing a muscle. (he probably never did because he was
practically inhuman but that's beside the point)
Get over it fans, Karl & John don't play for us any longer. Yes what they did do
while here was admirable we better face up to it--it's over! Now the Millers
need to overhaul the team just like they would one of their prized vehicles if
it needed new parts. O'Conner and the present coaching staff need to go to the
recycle yards, and unmotivated players from this years team need to get their
resumes updated and sent to other teams in this league. Get a "NEW" attitude
started here and with the Knick pick make the right decision whether it be a
pick or a trade. Bring in players that want to play hard with some heart.
AK is out for the Denver series which really puts more pressure on the rest of
the guys. Even though the Boozer injury is appears more serious than initially
reported, Boozer haters won't rest until they beat Denver. Denver is without
George Karl so we do have the coaching advantage. Then we shock the Lakers,
take care of Phoenix or Dallas... I'm getting carried away but we really have a
good shot against Denver.
