This is and always has been with all Jazz teams they're achilles
issue-CONTENTMENT! I want to see effort, desire, killer instinct and drive to be
the best you can, not just qualifing for some stupid playoff as merely a
qualifier. Your all overpaid, so we the fans expect more of you than to be
content, do you get it?
No, you can't afford bad losses. I think that Pacers loss is gonna be hard to
get over considering the implications it has on the playoff seeding. That one
game may have cost 2nd seed. Ouch.
Content? OOPS! Great attitude. Duh!HERE THEY GO!As of
games through March 27th, listed by final ranking, the projected wins/losses are
based on "paper," meaning they are what's supposed to happen (by toughness of
schedule) if all teams play their best:1. Lakers - go 8-1 to be
62-202. Jazz - go 7-1 to be 55-273. Mavs - go 6-3 to be 54-284. Nuggets - go 5-4 to be 53-295. Suns - go 6-4 to be 52-306.
Spurs - go 8-3 to be 51-317. Thunder - go 7-4 to be 51-318. Blazers
- go 6-3 to be 50-32This pits the Jazz against the Thunder (a team
they have a hard time against) in the first round, with the winner between the
Mavs and Spurs in the second round. But, we know that status quo
doesn't always happen. Some teams falter, some excel. It would be
easy for the Jazz to end up 8th if lower teams excelled and the Jazz faltered.
There currently aren't that many losses between 2nd and 8th.Jazz
need to be ticked, not content.
For one thing I see the Nuggets going 6-3 or 7-2 after that emotional win in
Toronto. Obviously, with the Lakers coming up, there is only one chance of a
scenario that could get us the #2 or #3 seed and it is simple:Hope
Denver loses at Orlando and Dallas the next 2 nights. With wins over the Knicks
and Warriors at home as expected it would mean: The Jazz could be 1 up over
Denver in the Loss column going into LAIf we lose as expected we
could be tied at worse and take our chances and try and close out out with 5
wins in 5 games hope denver goes 4-1 or more realistic: The Jazz finish 4-1
Denver 3-2In Summary: Denver has to lose the next 2 to really have
a chance. The Jazz need to finish 7-2 and Denver 5-4...If Dallas finished 6-3
we finish #2
I hear all this talk about getting the number 2 seed. Which obviously is
important. The best thing the Jazz need to do is go 8-0. It's not like they
can't do it. They have L.A. on the road which is the biggest road block. But,
they are not unbeatable and if they Jazz play a great tempo they can win. Other
than that the only two other teams they have above .500 are OKC and Phoenix,
with both of them at home. There is no way the Jazz will lose to OKC again and
get swept, they wont let that happen. Phoenix is a win too considering the Jazz
will need to win that for the series. I hope everyone realizes that Phoenix only
has 26 losses as well and could move up in the standings just as easily as the
jazz. So, if the jazz win in L.A. I have no problem predicting the Jazz
finishing the season 8-0. This would put them at 56-26 and the #2 seed would
almost be guaranteed to them.
Just checking to see if you have awakened from your dream yet...
Teams take on the personailty of their coach. Rest assured the contentment
starts at the top.
Content after dropping to pathetic Pacers? That is why Utah is
not ready for winning the NBA champion.
has a much easier road. The Jazz could win the Division and still be in 4th
playing DEN in 5th with PHO in 3rd. I am not sure that the IND game
resulted from but if that is what contentment looks like they may as well buy
their plane tickets for the summer now. I am tired of wishing and
hoping just have have the Jazz tank at the prospect of getting a 2 seed. Every
time we think this team might be great it quickly dispels the delusion.
CHI, NJ, DET and MIL in the next 4 games. They do not have Lopez but what are
the chances they win 3 of 4? Yes it is a really good time for the
Jazz to be content.
The division winners get the first three seeds. So, no the Jazz couldn't pass
Denver to win the Northwest and slip to the 4 seed behind Phoenix. However, if
the Suns have the better record, they would get homecourt against the Jazz in a
head to head match up. That wouldn't happen unless both teams made the Western
Conference Finals though. The reason getting the 2 or 3 seed is important is to
avoid the Lakers in the second round. There is more to it though. Finishing a 2
seed is better than a 3 seed because it means homecourt in the second round
against Dallas (most likely scenario).
I'm not so worried about Phoenix catching up. The Jazz would really have to
choke for that to happen. I am disappointed with the Pacers game, but there's
no way they're gonna repeat their disastrous finish from last year. Yeah,
Phoenix has 3 easy games coming up, but Milwaukee is no pushover; especially at
home. Then they go on to play San Antonio, Houston, OKC, Denver and Utah.
Phoenix could finish 4-5. Hopefully, they go 5-4 and take care of Denver for
us. What you don't want is a second-round matchup with the Lakers. Not because
the Jazz are incapable of beating the Lakers, but because they need the boost of
confidence of making it through 2 rounds before seeing them. Then we could see
some Laker-killers. This team has really grown to believe in themselves in
every game they play, but there's something about the Staples Center that spooks
them. But hey, San Antonio was that way before this year, too. GO JAZZ!
RE: PHOThe Suns schedule after the next 3 games is brutal. I'm
thinking a 5-4 finish for them, maybe even 4-5 because of that Lopez injury.@ CHI@ NJ@ Det@ MILvs SA@ OKCvs HOUvs DEN@ UTARE: gdog3Not that big of a deal, but
the 3 division winners are only guaranteed a top FOUR seed. Technicaly, The Jazz
could finish with the 3rd & Denver the 2nd seed if they both pass Dallas. And
then a 5th seed could have home court over a 4 seed if the division winning 4th
seed had a worse record than the 5th seed.
