I can only hope that the rest of the country starts to follow this example...
considering the source of the criticism - it must be a good law
leave it to the back woods people in Utah to stick their heads deeper in the
NARAL, planned parenthood, and NOW won't be happy until they have aborted every
fetus in the country. Abortion is, after all, the most lucrative procedure
planned parenthood offers.
This is the kind of garbage you get, when you let religious extremists run your
government. Let's all go to Utah, where individual rights and civil liberties
matter less than other people's rights to push their values and misguided morals
on others! Ironic that these are the same people that also don't want to give
young people, the ones who are most at risk of unprotected sexual
experimentation, access to birth control materials or education. So much for
the 'Land of the Free'. remember, 'Big Brother' is watching you'. Can the
Thought Police be far behind?
Yeah UTAH...It is refreshing to hear a state standing when all have sit down on
What is the difference between intentionally killing a baby before he leaves his
mother's body versus after he leaves his mother's body? With regard to elective
abortions, we have to make an unselfish decision and care about someone who
cannot stand up for himself yet.
I don't know about the entire country but Planned Parenthood in Utah does not
provide abortion procedures. In fact, the mission of Planned Parenthood is about
responsible family planning, which includes actually having babies - not always
aborting them.Personally, I don't agree with abortion but that
doesn't justify me in telling other women when, how, or where they should or
should not have children. The decision to have an abortion must be a very
difficult and haunting choice to be faced with and should be left for that
person to be accountable for to whatever higher being they subscribe to.Even the LDS faith allows women who have had abortions not considered in
line with church guidelines (rape, incest, life of mother) are allowed to
receive forgiveness from their faith through the church's repentence process.Just because you are against abortion doesn't mean these agencies are
vigilanties out for everyone's fetuses. Without places like Planned Parenthood
many women would never have the ability to receive regular women's health
services (pap smears, breast exams, etc.) Quit being a fear mongerer. Your
comment provides no educational commentary or platform for adult discussion to
I'm pro-life however, this bill is WAY TOO BROAD. Under this bill a woman who
walks on an slippery street (risk: knowing you could fall), drives while
pregnant (risk: knowing you could have an accident), forgets to take her folic
acid, walks down a steep set of stairs (risk: you can easily fall), works on a
farm (risk: you can fall from a hayloft--my pregnant cousin actually DIED that
way), etc. etc. could all face MURDER charges if something occurred and the baby
miscarried.I strongly encourage other pro-life advocates to rethink
The rest of the county followed Utah's example eighty years ago. Everywhere else
has advanced while Utah lagged behind the rest of America. And a
fetus isn't a baby anyone than a zygote is a baby. Take a biology class so you
can understand human reproduction. Even if you object to abortion you would
better articulate your opposition to abortion my enhancing your vocabulary and
No one likes the idea of abortion! But to now make it a crime! It is a womans
choice, not the governments. Not yours or mine! This is America people! This
will be ruled unconstitional soon enough. Move forward Utah.... your going the
the comments by Wimmer show a complete disregard for sensitivity to the larger
issue. Wimmer is not a Woman, and this just goes to prove that MEN should not
be making laws regarding a WOMAN'S health. More patriarchal hypocrisy under the
guise of a "moral issue." And I'm a male.
Has anyone taken the time to discover why this woman felt she needed to do this?
Congratulations Utah! It is very nice to see that the Pro-Life movement is
making progress and that people are starting to see how evil abortion is...
Maybe if the state of Utah had sex education classes that focused not only on
abstainence but on prevention, this sad story may have never occured. On another
note if this is there law why isn't the boyfriend held accountable since he is
the one who encouraged her to seek an abortion in the first place?Men have
no business creating laws that affect women's health issues.
