Monster houses like this one tells me more of the owners' lack of environmental
awareness than anything else. Consider the energy spent to buy, build and
maintain a property of this size, the transportation and labor costs, not to
mention the environmental damage that such a house carries with it, multiply
that figure thousands of times, and you have an idea as to what I'm talking
about. This is nothing more than a status symbol, and is nothing to
be praised. So ask yourself: is it right to cause so much environmental damage
in the pursuit of such wasteful opulence? Or would a more modest, and
environmentally friendly structure be more appropriate?
I must say Patrick's comments echo my sentiments exactly. No wonder the US still
'houses' the highest burners of greenhouse gases. Why must the rest
of the world 'carry' the US, at our expense, with their unsustainable
decadence?I wonder his children will say to him in years to come?
"Didn't you you know, or did you just not care?"
In my opinion, the best makeover for this house would have been for the owners
to turn it into a homeless shelter.
What a gaudy mess this designer made It is what nightmares are made of.
I have to agree with Hammermill on the fact they should have changed the house
into a homeless shelter.. It's a waste of space and money.. the owners should
find a better way to show off their money and save the enviroment.
