College football is viewed by many as a timeless American tradition. But the times are changing fast. Realignment, a shifting bowl structure and rumors of a playoff system have schools scrambling to find new homes. Not too long ago, the Utah Utes and BYU Cougars played football in the 16-team Western Athletic Conference. But now the Cougars and Utes have moved on, and the few football programs that remain in the WAC from those days have plans to leave. Here's a look at where those 16 teams have gone and how they've performed.

Air Force Falcons

Conference status: Left WAC in 1999, joined MWC.

BYU Cougars

Colorado State Rams
