Summer is almost here and that means families will embark upon a much needed vacation. But where should they go? Here's a list of vacations families can enjoy both internationally and locally. Pricing is based on a family of six, with two adults and four children.

A family of six, can expect a trip to Paris, France to be pretty expensive, especially if it's for five days and six nights.

The first thing a family needs to plan for is getting there. Flight tickets will cost about $9,555.20 total, according to Delta Vacations. That gets the family there and back.

The hotel

You'll also need a place to stay on vacation and with that big of a family you'll need two rooms.

Staying the Crown Plaza, a 3.5 star hotel, will cost a family about $2,288.34 per room for five nights. So two rooms will cost about $4,576.

Paris car rentals

A family needs a way to get around. Renting a vehicle for the entire trip in Paris will cost $909.

That doesn't include the cost of gasoline but it does make traveling around the city and to any other locations much easier.

Hop on, hop off bus tour

This bus tour takes the whole family to various sites around Paris for an entire day.

For a family of six, it would cost about $258 and it makes finding sites much easier.

A trip to Paris usually includes visiting the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre.

A family of six can go atop the Eiffel for approximately $105. Admission to the Louvre will cost about $12.43 per person. That comes to a total cost of $74.58.

Disneyland

Many kids dream of going to Disneyland. A trip to Disneyland isn't quite as expensive as a trip to Paris.

Staying at the Good Neighbor Hotel for four days will cost $2,168.06.

A family can pay for a meal plan at Disneyland so they don't have to worry about shopping around for it.

Getting a four day meal plan will cost the family $1,227.

While the airfare is included in the overall price of the trip, there are additional fees.

United Airlines is the least expensive airline to fly from Salt Lake City to Disneyland on but the additional fees start at $25 for the checked bag, $35 for the second and $100-$200 for checked bags weighing more than 50 lbs.

Ground travel

There are a few different ways to travel from the airport and around Disneyland.

Families can choose to rent a car, catch a motor coach or a get passes for a shuttle van.

Passes for a shuttle van cost $20 to $38 per person ages 12 and up, and $16 to $38 per child ages 3-11, depending on what airport you land at.

Motor coach will cost $27 to 35 per person ages 12 and up depending on the airport, and $18 to 25 for kids 3-11.

The hotels have swimming pools, so families can use those for no additional cost.

If a family wants to spenda day at Universal studios it will cost an extra $460. Admission to SeaWorld will cost the family an extra $429.94.

Passes to Disneyland are included in the overall price.

Hit the sand dunes

Camping

Camping at the main campground costs $16 a day. Staying for three days and two nights will cost a family $32.

Two person tents can be purchased at Walmart for $24.86 each or $74.58 for three.

Sleeping bags will be needed as well. Medium-grade sleeping bags will cost $15.97 each at Walmart. For a family of six, that comes to $95.82 before sales tax.

Going on vacation at the Coral Pink Sand Dunes costs includes a variety of facilities: showers, bathrooms, day use pavilions, OHV trails and riding areas.

Sleeping bags

Camping chairs

In order to sit around a camp fire, people need something to sit on.

If there aren't any logs to sit on, buying some camping chairs can be a good idea.

Camping chairs at Walmart cost $9.97 each. So six would cost $59.82 before tax.

Camping can be more than just a family sleeping outside in sleeping bags.

If family doesn't already have flashlights, they can purchase them at Walmart for $14.90 per flashlight. These can be used for playing "flashlight tag" but each person will probably want their own flashlight.

Six flashlights at $14.90 each will cost $89.40 total.
