There were some big performances this past Friday, making the job of discerning the top 5 a difficult one. There is some good football going on around the state and some very decent numbers to match the quality of football.

5 Ricky Shumway, 6-2, 175, WR, Timpview High

Shumway is putting up big numbers most weeks and was able to haul in eight passes for 140 yards and three touchdowns in Friday's 27-25 win over Mountain View.

4 Brian Scott, 6-1, 220, RB, Hurricane High

Scott romped over Cedar for 245 yards and three touchdowns on just 20 carries during his team's 29-20 victory.

3 Kyle Larsen, 5-8, 170, RB, Provo High

Larsen's team came up just a bit short in its 52-35 loss to Orem, but he did his best in rushing the ball for 260 yards and three touchdowns on 27 carries.

2 DJ Nelson, 5-9, 160, QB, Logan High

It's become very apparent that Nelson will be appearing on the top 5 performance list most weeks. In Logan's 48-28 win over Spanish Fork, he accounted for 446 total yards and five touchdowns.

1 Chase Hansen, 6-4, 210, QB, Lone Peak High School

I had him as the number one performer on my top 5 commit list as well, and for good reason. In Friday's 56-41 win over Highland, he ran the ball for 171 yards and a touchdown to go along with his 380 yards and six touchdowns passing.
