Sport: slopestyle ski

Fast fact: His first major win was the final Olympic Grand Prix in Park City three weeks ago. He has numerous podiums in competition and graduated from the Winter Sports School.

Chris Fogt

Hometown: Alpine

Sport: Bobsled, push athlete

Fast fact: A member of the Army’s world-class athlete program, Fogt competed in 2010 Olympics with USA 2 and then served a year in Afghanistan, where he advanced to the rank of captain. He is married and expecting his first child in May.

Days competing: *Sunday, Feb. 16, and Monday, Feb. 17 (two man); Saturday Feb. 22, and Sunday, Feb. 23 (four man)

*Coaches decide if Fogt participates in two-man during the games. He and Steve Langton have shared runs with Holcomb this season with equal success.

Sport: Alpine skiing

Fast fact: Feels his background as a freeskier helps him when the Alpine course gets rough. Grew up racing with the Snowbird Ski Team, but said he wasn’t serious until he was 15. Also played lacrosse at Skyline High.

Days competing: This is up to the coaches, but most likely he’ll compete in super combined on Friday, Feb. 14. Possibly men’s downhill Feb. 9.

Preston Griffall

Sport: luge doubles

Fast fact: A graduate of Olympus High, Griffall competed in the 2006 Games but narrowly missed making the Olympic team in 2010.

Sport: snowboard cross

Fast fact: At 21, this is the former Brighton Bengal’s second Olympic experience. She finished 12th in the Vancouver Olympics and top eight in last year’s event on the Olympic course in Sochi. She got her start at Snowbird Ski Resort.

Sarah Hendrickson

Hometown: Park City

Sport: ski jumping

Fast fact: At just 19 years old, Hendrickson is the reigning world champion in women’s ski jumping and a medal contender despite tearing her ACL and MCL in August. Her recovery was so bold and methodical that she returned to ski jumping just two weeks before being named to the team two weeks ago.

Steven Holcomb

Sport: Bobsled, pilot

Fast fact: Nearly went blind and suffered from depression before winning the first U.S. bobsled gold in 62 years in 2010. Has won nine World Cup medals this season — nine gold.

Jessica Jerome

Sport: ski jumping

Fast fact: Jerome was one of two U.S. athletes who sued Vancouver’s Olympic Organizing Committee in hopes of forcing the IOC to include women in the Olympics. These efforts were largely responsible for the sport’s acceptance in 2011 for the 2014 Games. She earned her spot on the team by winning the selection event in December.

Anders Johnson

Sport: ski jumping

Fast fact: His father, Alan, was a ski jumper and he coaches the sport. His sister Alissa is a member of the U.S. women's ski jump team. In his Olympic debut in 2006, he was just 16, and became the youngest Nordic athlete in U.S. history.

Fast fact: A three-time Olympian, Ligety won a gold medal in the 2006 Olympics and won three World Championships in eight days in 2013 in super-G, combined and giant slalom. The giant slalom (GS) is his best event.
