Utah, BYU and Utah State are all set to receive some good talent following this season, and a lot of this talent is from Utah while others play in locales as far away as Florida. Here's the top five performances among those committed to play for a local college program. For the first week of out-of-state play, it was the defensive players who stood out. 5 Phillip Amone, 6-0, LB, 218, Dr. Phillips HS, Orlando, Fla. (committed to BYU)
Amone family

Amone had a total of 13 tackles (four for loss) in the Panthers' 31-21 victory over Apopka High School. Amone committed to BYU this past June and will play at either outside or inside linebacker for the Cougars.

4 Butch Pau'u, 6-0, 225, LB, Servite HS, Anaheim, Calif. (committed to BYU)
Pau'u family

Pau'u was the leader of the Friar defense in defeating powerhouse Oceanside in its first game of the year. He tallied 15 tackles (three for loss). He had a fumble recovery.

3 Bobby Wolford, 6-3, 225, LB, Bishop Kenny HS, Jacksonville, Fla. (committed to BYU)

Wolford led his team's defense in recording 12 tackles, two sacks and a reception for 20 yards in just three quarters of play. Bishop Kenny cruised to an easy win against Middleburg HS.

2 Delshawn McClellon, 5-9, 165, WR, Gahr HS, Cerritos, Calif. (committed to Utah)

The speedster had 13 catches for 147 yards and three touchdowns in Gahr's 48-8 blowout win over Millikan HS. He sat out for almost the entire second half and also contributed a 42-yard run along with several punt and kick returns for big yardage.

1 Tanner Mangum, 6-3, 190, QB, Eagle HS, Eagle, Idaho (committed to BYU)
Mangum family

BYU's headliner commit debuted by going 19-of-32 passing for 328 yards and four touchdowns during Eagles' 41-21 win over Timberline. Most of his work came in the first half with 258 yards and three touchdowns before the offense shut it down in the second half.

Mangum committed to BYU in early April and was recently named as co-MVP of the prestigious Elite 11 QB camp.
