5 Kheeston Randall, defensive tackle

The senior is on the Lombardi Award and Outland Trophy watch lists. Last season, Randall recorded 13 tackles-for-loss, one sack, eight quarterback pressures and two blocked kicks.

4 Keenan Robinson, linebacker

Up for the Butkas Award, Bednarik Award, Nagurski Trophy and Lombardi Award, Robinson led the Lornhorns last season with 113 tackles to go along with eight tackles-for-loss, two sacks, two interceptions, two pass breakups, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble.

3 Jaxon Shipley, wide receiver

In his first collegiate game Saturday in Texas' win over Rice, Shipley, the younger brother of the Longhorns' all-time receptions leader Jordan Shipley, caught two passes for 54 yards, including a 36-yard touchdown. He also rushed three times for 25 yards.

2 Malcolm Brown, running back

The highly touted freshman gained 86 yards on 16 carries in his collegiate debut Saturday against Rice. It was the best start to a career by a Texas running back since Jamaal Charles rushed for 135 yards on 14 carries in 2005.

The junior, who retained the starting job after a shaky campaign last season, completed 13-of-23 passes for 239 yards and one touchdown in Saturday's win over Rice. The Longhorns are breaking in a new offense under first-year coordinator Bryan Harsin, who came from Boise State.
