Throughout the high school football season, the Deseret News gathers and tracks offensive and defensive statistics for nearly every team in the state. Each week, roughly 90 percent of the schools submit their stats for publication, and the year-to-date leaders in a variety of categories can be found here.

After sifting through thousands of tackles and yards from roughly 50 games last week, here are 15 of the top performers from week 4 of the high school football season:

Colton Jensen, Bear River

Jensen's stats

The Wes Welker of Utah high school football was in fine form in a 62-48 win over Tooele as he caught 10 passes for 283 yards and two touchdowns.

Jardee Nessen, Bear River

Nessen's stats

Nessen was unstoppable in a 62-48 victory over Tooele as he completed 26 of 34 passes for 492 yards and seven TDs. He also ran for a score. Nessen had just two TD passes through the first three weeks of the season.

Austin Kafentzis, Jordan

Kafentzis' stats

Jordan’s quarterback had a monster game at Rio Tinto Stadium on Saturday, passing for a new career-high 446 yards in a 56-26 loss to Bergen Catholic, N.J. Kafentzis added 123 rushing yards, finishing with four total TDs.

Kelton Hunt, Enterprise

Hunt's stats

The junior carried the ball 28 times for 235 yards and three touchdowns in a 32-0 region victory over Parowan.

Triston Duran, Pine View

Duran's stats

Duran had a superb evening in a 56-28 win over Snow Canyon by rushing for 106 yards and three touchdowns to go along with a receiving touchdown.

Jace Colby, Northridge

Colby's stats

Colby hauled in eight catches for 199 yards and two touchdowns to help lead Northridge to a 47-7 victory over Viewmont, its first of the season.

Kody Jarvis, Herriman

Jarvis' stats

Lone Peak had no answer for Jarvis last Friday, as he carried the ball just five times for 104 yards and two scores in Herriman’s 29-21 upset road victory. Jarvis also returned an interception 95 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter, which swung momentum the Mustangs’ way for good.

Caden Calton, Lehi

Calton's stats

For the second straight week, Calton eclipsed the 300-yard rushing mark as he carried the ball 33 times for 315 yards and four touchdowns in a 37-24 victory over rival Westlake.

Chase Nelson, Logan

Nelson's stats

The Grizzly QB was extremely efficient in Friday’s 61-13 win over Ogden as he completed 12 of 14 for 199 yards and five TDs. He also added 69 rushing yards and a touchdown on just five carries.

Christian Folau, East

Folau's stats

Folau was at the heart of everything East did defensively in Friday’s 42-6 win over Woods Cross as he finished with 20 total tackles and one sack.

Dylan Slavens, Springville

Slavens' stats

Slavens helped spoil Spanish Fork’s homecoming as he completed 11 of 20 passes for 324 yards and three touchdowns in the 34-21 win over the Dons.

Kade Carrigan, Morgan

Carrigan's stats

Carrigan contributed in just about every way possible in a 42-18 win over Granger. On the ground he carried the ball 16 times for 108 yards and a touchdown. Through the air he caught two passes for 29 yards and a score, and he even chipped in defensively with two tackles and two sacks.

Auston Tesch, Weber

Tesch's stats

Tesch accounted for three of Weber’s four touchdowns and added a team-high 13 tackles to lead the Warriors to a 28-20 win over Box Elder on Friday. He finished the game with 122 rushing yards on 24 carries.

Morgan Torgersen, Richfield

Torgersen's stats

Torgersen scored twice on the ground, once through the air and then once on a 45-yard fumble recovery to lead Richfield past Emery 42-12. He finished the game with 53 rushing yards and 36 receiving yards and added four tackles.

Spencer Romney, Pleasant Grove

Romney's stats

Romney returned two punts for touchdowns in a 45-14 rout of Maple Mountain on Friday. Romney also added 55 receiving yards and chipped in with one tackle defensively.
