WEST VALLEY CITY — A 20-year-old man received minor injuries Friday after numerous shots were fired at his home in an apparent "walk-by shooting," West Valley Police Lt. Rick McLenon said.
The shooting took place just before 6:30 a.m. Friday morning at 2696 S. 7056 West, McLenon said. The shots were fired from a shotgun, with the injured man being struck by several pellets. The injuries did not require the man to be transported to a hospital, police said.
There were other people in the home at the time of the shooting, but no other injuries were reported, McLenon said.
"They did not know why this would happen to them," he said.
The incident is under investigation, McLenon said. So far, authorities do not have suspect information, but investigators believe the incident involved a single shooter.
