High school superstar and future Duke forward Jabari Parker placed third in the McDonald's All-American Games' Powerade Jam Fest in Chicago on Monday.
Parker entered the dunk contest even though he didn't think he would take home the title held previously by players such as Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James and Blake Griffin.
"They needed contestants, so I put my name out there," Parker told the Chicago Tribune Monday morning. "Everyone was too shy. I know I'm not going to win."
Parker placed third out of five, and Florida recruit Chris Walker won the contest.
The dunk contest was held to kick off the McDonald's All-American Game featuring Parker and some of the top high school players in the country, which will be played on April 3.
