Norma Darlene Adams Goodwin1929 ~ 2012Norma Darlene Adams Goodwin, beloved wife, mother and grandmother slipped quietly away on the early morning of March 26, 2012 from a sudden onset of illness. Her death was peaceful and swift. Norma was born on March 14, 1929 as the second daughter of Mamie Eliza Weeks and Earl Hans Adams in Ririe, Idaho. The family lived in Swan Valley, Idaho and she experienced a true pioneer lifestyle with her brother and sister on the family ranch. In 1944, Norma moved to Idaho Falls where she completed her education. In 1949, she was married for time and eternity to her sweetheart Oren Gene Goodwin, from Blackfoot, Idaho. They made their home in Idaho Falls where Norma took on role of motherhood and hostess. She loved entertaining friends and family, and it would be a hallmark throughout her life.Norma enjoyed all the homemaking arts and music was in her soul. She led many choirs and loved to sing aloud in her living room to her beloved records; often with the children either participating or covering their ears in embarrassment. She encouraged every one of her children to learn to appreciate and flourish in some form of musical development.Norma was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was anxious to help those who needed an added expression of her love. We never knew if the cinnamon rolls she had baked were for the family or someone else. Norma and Gene served a senior mission to Oakland, California, serving the South East Asian group of Saints. Their door was always open to any and all who needed help or a place to stay. She was preceded in death by her adoring husband, Gene, her dear parents, and her sister, Marcene. She has left behind her brother Lonny Adams (Glenda Lee), Children: Diana (Trond Espnes), Pam, Lenny (Gail Badham), Joy (Jerry Ledingham), Kara (Owen Reeder), Michael, (Christy Williams), Steve (Jenny Estall) and Kim (George Horlacher). She leaves behind 28 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Services will be at the Barton Creek Ward located at 640 South 750 East in Bountiful UT at 11:00 a.m. Friday March 30, 2012 with a viewing in the relief society room from 9:30 to 10:45.
