R. Reid Davidson 1920 ~ 2011 Robert Reid Davidson, 90, passed away on January 9, 2011, in Pomona, California, from causes incident to age. Reid was born on June 19, 1920, the son of Joseph Reid and Lillie Dell Chapman Davidson. Reid spent his growing up years and first part of his adulthood in Salt Lake City. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad and also attended the University of Utah, where he earned his bachelor's degree and then a master's degree in social work. In 1973 he moved to California and was employed by the state of California as a social worker supervising the care of the disabled. Reid was a member of the LDS Church. Reid is survived by nephews Stephen G. Miller (Karen), Richard C. Miller (Jenae), and niece Marilyn M. Foster. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Velma D. Miller, and nephew Norman J. Miller. The family wishes to recognize and thank Reid's good friend Dr. David B. Davies for the kindness and support he has extended to Reid for over 40 years. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 15, at 11:00 a.m. at the Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City, Utah. Those desiring to do so may meet with the family one hour prior to services.
