SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Workforce Services announced Tuesday a new director for the Office of Child Care.
Tracy Gruber will take over the position being vacated by Kristen Floyd, who is leaving to focus on "several family business ventures," according to a statement from the Utah Department of Workforce Services.
“Tracy has exhibited a work ethic and passion for Utah’s children that make her a perfect fit to lead our Office of Child Care,” Jon Pierpont, the department's executive director, said in a prepared statement.
Gruber was previously a senior adviser on intergenerational poverty and prior to that was the director of state fiscal policy for Voices for Utah Children. She will keep her advisory role over intergenerational poverty when she begins her new job Sept. 2.
The Utah Office of Child Care's mission is to provide accessible, affordable and quality child care for Utah children.
