TAYLORSVILLE — The city is hosting a Night Out Against Crime on Thursday.

The event will be 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Taylorsville City Hall, 2600 W. Taylorsville Blvd.

The Unified Police Department will present information on preventing crime in neighborhoods, provide a police dog demonstration and give tours of special equipment.

The Unified Fire Authority will provide opportunities for residents to practice extinguishing a fire and for children to practice evacuating from a room filled with simulated smoke.

Scouts will be able to work on merit badges in safety, crime prevention and emergency preparedness. Everyone is welcome.
