The Detroit Lions have selected former Utah State standout Nevin Lawson with the 133rd overall pick in the fourth round of the NFL draft.

The 5-foot-10, 185-pound cornerback was first-team all-Mountain West during his senior year. He was also named conference player of the week twice last season.

A native, of Kingston, Jamaica, Lawson played running back and cornerback while also running track.

He started 31 games for the Aggies, while earning his degree in just 3 1/2 years at USU.

A little undersized, he was named to the Bleacher Report's all-sleeper team on Thursday.

In a recent three-round mock draft ESPN's Mel Kiper had Lawson going to the San Francisco 49ers in the third round.
