SALT LAKE CITY — Rocky Mountain Power is offering a monthly bill discount to its residential customers who meet specific income guidelines.
The bill discount, known as Home Energy Lifeline Program, or HELP, is available to assist limited-income individuals and families. The discount is $11 each month for an annual savings of $132.
The first step to obtain the discount is to call the Utah 211 phone line to be referred to the local agency that administers energy assistance programs. Income guidelines are uniform throughout the state and can be viewed online at jobs.utah.gov. For example, a family of four with a monthly income of $2,945 or less can qualify.
"We know there are many more households that could be participating in the company's HELP program but are not currently enrolled," said Becky Eberle, Rocky Mountain Power program manager.
She said that households do not have to obtain energy assistance in order to receive the discount.
