PROVO — Waiting six years to get a haircut was worth it for a BYU employee.

Valerie Haws, a locksmith who works at the university, had her 31-inch ponytail chopped off for Locks of Love, through which the hair will be donated to children who have medical-related hair loss.

The Center for Service and Learning at BYU teamed with Renaissance Academie for the biannual Locks of Love event.
