Will Facebook and YouTube soon be banned in Turkey?

It looks that way, according to The Wall Street Journal, which reported that Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he will make sure Turkey doesn’t have YouTube or Facebook after local elections within the country on March 30.

“We are determined on this subject. We will not leave this nation at the mercy of YouTube and Facebook,” Erdogan said, adding that both social media sites were heavily used by his political opponents, WSJ reported. “We will take the necessary steps in the strongest way.”
