The notable white and gold plumage was scarce at the state's 25th annual Bald Eagle Day Saturday in Farmington, as cloudy weather and a limited fish supply kept the famous birds at bay. Handfuls of birdwatchers and photographers still paraded the boardwalks at the Farmington Bay Waterfowl Management Area throughout the viewing event, hoping to catch a glimpse of the national bird. More than 200 bird species have been documented at the facility, which attracts the feathered friends during the migratory and nesting seasons with its wetlands habitats and various vegetation.
