The 1 percent of the United States — known for being the wealthy elite compared to the rest of the country — work harder, says billionaire Sam Zell, according to The Huffington Post. Zell, the chairman of Equity Group Investments, said he agreed with Tom Perkins, a business person and capitalist, who said there was a war being waged on the 1 percent, HuffPost reported.

"The problem is that the world and this country should not talk about envy of the 1 percent. It should talk about emulating the 1 percent," Zell said to HuffPost. "The 1 percent work harder. The 1 percent are much bigger factors in all forms of our society."
