SALT LAKE CITY — A resident who had heard about a search for a missing woman spotted her Saturday afternoon near 1700 N. Redwood Road.
Police had sought the public's help in locating Linda Jensen, 65, after she wandered away from a care facility at 1001 N. Featherstone Drive Friday. Jensen has a diminished mental capacity, and authorities were especially worried in light of the extreme heat.
Brian Baker, Jensen's son, said he worried that new medication might be affecting her behavior. The extreme heat was also a concern for family and police.
Jensen was found safe about 2 p.m. playing cards on the porch of an abandoned home. Jensen had water with her and, except for spending 28 hours outside, was in otherwise good condition, police said.
