Provo, Utah – BYU men’s soccer drew a season high attendance of over 1,550 people, yet lost to the Real Colorado Foxes, 2-1.

The Cougars came out shooting, determined to pull ahead in the first half. Jace Green carried the ball down the field, drawing the Foxes keeper out of goal. Green sent the ball flying over Miguel Rosales' hands for the first goal of the game in the 33rd minute. Green scored the first goal for BYU with no assist on the play.

BYU remained ahead 1–0 for the entire first half.

In the 64th minute, Ri Armstrong assisted the first Real Colorado goal. Armstrong split the goal with a pass to Aaron Skipworth, who shot past BYU keeper Brian Hale. The Foxes pulled away in the 76th minute. Oliver Gore scored through the BYU defense for the second Foxes goal with an assist by John Rehl.

“This is the first time in awhile we’ve felt such momentum,” BYU coach Chad Sackett said. “Everyone was excited. We were able to pull away one nothing, and then we had some sitters … we need to finish.”

BYU’s record stands at 1–5–1. The next home game is Friday, June 14 at 7:30 p.m. MST against the Southern California Seahorses on South Field. Watch the game live on KSL and Deseret News.
