SOUTH SALT LAKE — A woman was killed Monday after she was struck by a TRAX train near 3900 South and 200 West, officials said.
South Salt Lake police spokesman Gary Keller said the woman was in her mid-20s. She was walking in a pedestrian crosswalk at a TRAX station when she was struck by a northbound train. The woman was transported to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Police were alerted to the accident at 11:31 a.m. Traffic was shut down on 3900 south but has since reopened.
The accident is being investigated by South Salt Lake City Police and the Utah Department of Transportation.
