BAGHDAD — Iraqi authorities say attacks including a suicide car bomb have killed nine people, mainly members of the security forces.
Police officials say the deadliest of Tuesday attacks happened in the evening when a suicide bomber rammed his explosives-laden car into a police checkpoint near the western city of Fallujah, killing four policemen and wounding seven others.
Hours earlier, police said two soldiers were killed when their vehicle was struck by a roadside bomb near the northern city of Mosul.
Gunmen shot dead an off-duty policeman in a drive-by shooting in northeastern Baghdad, said authorities. Also in Baghdad, a bomb went off at night in a commercial street in the western Jihad district, killing two.
Medical officials confirmed the casualty figures. All officials spoke anonymously as they weren't authorized to release information.
