Our nation's leadership once imagined that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and that they might use them on us or our friends. So we bombed Iraq's cities into rubble and helped put some new crooks in power. (Never mind that it turned out that Iraq never had weapons of mass destruction and the new people in power hate us — can't win 'em all.)

But wait, I feel confused. North Korea has been very public about its possession of weapons of mass destruction — no imagination required. And they've made it very clear that they intend to use them on us. Why aren't we carpet-bombing already?
