WEST VALLEY CITY — Los Angeles Kings forward and Utah native Trevor Lewis will celebrate with the Stanley Cup today at the Maverik Center, the home of the Utah Grizzlies, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
After a private meet-and-greet for invited guests from 11a.m.-noon, the public will have the opportunity to meet Lewis and take photos with him and the Stanley Cup. Other festivities will take place as well, such as a dunk tank with a local ECHL linesman and a puck shoot.
Lewis, the first from Utah to have his name inscribed on the cup, raised the trophy with his Kings teammates at Staples Center in June following a 4-2 series victory over the New Jersey Devils in the Stanley Cup Finals. Each player from the championship team gets to spend 24 hours with the Stanley Cup.
The Stanley Cup will be on display at Maverik Center for the first time since it toured the ECHL and appeared at a Grizzlies game on Thanksgiving evening of 2005.
